it must have been the Christmas Market on the Strand that I saw advertised.
Plenty of warning signs along the beach.
The council may compulsory purchase some of Richard Weeks' Warren Farm to create a public park on the cliffs between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. More than 1,240 people have signed an online petition calling on the Government to 'stop Teignbridge Council forcing a farmer off his land'. Warren Farm has been part of a Natural England Countryside Stewardship scheme for the past 10 years and ...
I'm sure that they are, and I know that it did many of the rest of us the power of good to have the opportunity to work together to help others. Those were dark days with the sea front closed off and Marine Parade railings destroyed. It was a dreadful shock to see the world changed overnight, pulling together to help others was a powerful antidote to that feeling of helplessness when the news ...

The following may contain the seeds of an answer to Daverc's question http://www.devon.gov.uk/dawlishupdate.pdf http://www.devon.gov.uk/text/census_profile-div47-dawlish.pdf Very worrying information about homes without central heating, fuel poverty and children being raised in poverty Dawlish is a lovely place to live, but its sad to see how difficult life can be for our neighbours. ...
@JC - No need to thank me, although accepted.
@DJ - you put forward a good arguement, but the only things going down are the council costs and the services we have paid for in dawlish, through high rates.
Did a child write that? ...further down re Kingsbridge 'we got nothing' Newton 'Abbout' lol Just spotted that, cant be bothered to read it all. Still can't work out why Dawlish has always been a 'top secret' events Carnival.

Very good Video. Well done.
There was a lot of fireworks around on Saturday (15th) night.
And that, dear Burneside, says far more about you than it does it about me. Dont forget to get your family to press Agree...
Firefighters were called to a fire at a Dawlish caravan park on Sunday. The fire, which involved a ground level hook-up, was reported at around 9.15am at the Holiday Park in Warren Road, Dawlish Warren. One fire engine from Dawlish attended but the fire was out when the crews arrived. http://www.torquayheraldexpress.co.uk/Firefighters-called-Dawlish-caravan/story-24541724-detail/story.html

Went along to the Craft Fair at the Manor House earlier today. First time I've been inside the MH for probably a couple of years or so. Very nice now. Well done to everyone involved in its revamping. It, like all of you, is a credit to this town.
@ZIGGY . Thanks Ziggy for that. Some interesting comments on FB.
Or maybe this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-30040238
Speed restriction this morning due to the storm...so delays again. This is all becoming a bit annoying for people who want to travel by train! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=821691497896350&fref=nf
If there is a covenant that says the building must be used for young people's services for 25 years then could it not become the VIth Form Centre that Dawlish Learning Partnership wants for Dawlish? Or, despite the fact that I believe provision of a VIth Form facility features in the Local Plan, is that just aspirational, pie in the sky, wishful thinking? Apologies, but other than the ...
Whilst I'm sure that "willsmith" is on the wind up, just for the record though the Exe Trail is a shared user route. I.e. for cyclists and pedestrians alike.
"What a lot of old tosh 'Counterfeiting is illegal and takes custom away from legitimate local traders'. 1)what local traders sell Raybans and Rolex watches!, 2) they advertised the items as replicas, 3) How a tiny fraction of the cost of the real thing is denting the pockets of the genuine manufacturers." 1) There will be many local traders selling these products, doesn't just mean local to ...

If the grandmother had not put it on the Dawlish Neigbourhood Police FB page in the first place it might not have gained its notoriety
Thanks for your, ahem, "constructive" comment Old Fart... It brought a smile to my face when I saw that you didn't answer mine and Lynne's question on the migration thread.
************Update************ Weather is looking good for the Dawlish Parade which starts at 2:45pm in Park Road by the Central Hall/Siew May/Lansdowne, then along to the Swan and up to the St. Gregorys War Memorial.
Dawlish and Torbay could really benefit in many ways if they go for it. Currently the Paignton - Exmouth local train off peak calls every hoiur at Dawlish at 50 min pass the hour. If the line was put in place a loop service could mean, say, leave Plymouth on the half hour, this would mean trains would reach Dawlish at 20 mins pass the hour, and so with the Paignton line provide a half hourly ...
The containers are now finished with and are being moved from the sea wall to the Red Rock beach where they are being crushed.
Just thought I'd bring this to people's attention given as council funded homes are closing and not all have the wherewithall to find the money for private nursing home fees. http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/2392.aspx?CategoryID=68 (and yes I know that = public money (aka tax payers' money) going straight into the private sector again but.........we are where we are)
Highly recommend people having a read of the whole of this report (see link at bottom of quote) "As 29% of low paid workers work in retail, this sector in particular is coming under intense scrutiny. A recent report by The Fair Pay Network found that despite collectively making billions of pounds worth of profits and paying their CEO’s millions of pounds a year, not one of the top 4 ...
No Old Fart, I've merely asked for clarification on a point you raised followed by a sensible question to you - on a thread that I started. If you're unable or unwilling to answer the request and/or question, then just say so, instead of turning the thread into a personal attack on me. Ironically, Lynne raised a similar question to mine...
