To protect the railway line we should build substantial rock groynes and offshore breakwaters like Sidmouth has.
I said the same thing a couple of years ago.
I think Anne Marie is also asking for something similar.
It's got to be many times cheaper than building a new alternative route in land, which we all know will never happen.
Why weren't the exsisting groyns replaced over the years?
Are the sea bed, tidal flows, wave shape corresponding to water depth, etc,etc,etc the same as Sidmouth its far from simple i believe a seabed study is in the pipeline to establish what can be done. My answers to the problem steel and concrete extend the wall out 15 or 20 feet the best scenario get rid of the railway and turn it into a motorway or a F1 racing circuit and then we could be famous for F1 instead of the Air Show.
