Dawlish holiday park worker guilty of theft. See more... http://www.torquayheraldexpress.co.uk/Dawlish-holiday-park-worker-guilty-theft/story-22843973-detail/story.html
Yes, awful awful news. Thought it was something serious though as I know someone who travelled that way about 3.30pm yesterday who told me the road was sealed off the Topsham side of Countess Wear and then someone else I know who travelled that way about 8.15pm last evening also said the road was still sealed off. Sadly a road being sealed off that length of time usually means a very serious or ...
Thanks for the information I will do a bit of research and take it to the next CIC meeting on 20th September.. Will update as and when I can.
haha @Lynne i know i've completely lost the thread now ... thanks @Dorian
Can any one tell me, are the social benefits of money offered to communities by applicants (as in this case) relevant to the decision, that is ... are they a material consideration.
Margarethe Hearne, who was unable to support Dawlish Christian Spritualist Church on 10th August, has agreed to stand in for the cancellation we received from Claire Corner. Margarethe is a lovely spiritual lady and we are delighted to welcome her as our Guest Speaker this coming Sunday. We look forward to seeing her and all those who came on 10th August, expecting to see her, and anyone else ...
How stupid is that ? its August We do live in a 20 year old caravan with single glazing but even so August Can someone have a word
@Dorian . No need to keep repeating ? Wrote it once as a joke . What you on about ?
Thats what i call spending a penny . You should have called the Rozzers.
These will include improvements to the other weirs on the Brook not included in the Teignbridge plan. It will also ensure that improvements are made to the nesting islands and egress slopes for the iconic black swans. On-going maintenance work to the much loved water course in the heart of Dawlish is due to resume later this year. Read more... ...
Due to lack of Sainsbury's staff apparently.
My family and I have had a great time over the Carnival and Air Show Period we have supported all the events on the lawn. None of which would have happened if the open space was greatly diminished. Spent yesterday on the playing fields watching the red arrows etc. The children and grown ups had a marvellous time running around, doing handstands, kicking a ball around and all for free, again I ...
Giving a grant for the float is like giving a grant to reupholster the sofas on the Titanic. I wonder if Fred Bassett, Burnside etc will be calling for their resignations.
https://www.dawlish.com/event/details?eventdateid=13222 Lots going on today on the Lawn.
@Mrs C - now that's a step in the right direction. I heard that you could also adopt a Dartmoor pony to go with your free luxury home. Will you be getting one of the homes?
O.K maybe it was the Apache i'm no expert obviously just going by what someone told me. Maybe the others were the Police and the Griffin.
Four out of five of our scheduled Mediums for August have cancelled this year for a variety of reasons but we are very grateful to those who have been willing to stand in at short notice. This Sunday, after umpteen 'phonecalls, I am delighted to say that Pauline & Harry Aldritt have agreed to stand in. I just hope we have enough people in the Congregation to make them feel that their efforts ...
Well done Pete's son - good on yer!
Well done Ziggy for using Dawlish.com to do something that is good for the town, without nastiness

Don't forget the Grand Firework Display at Dawlish Warren tonight starting at approx 9.15pm. Mark Price and friends will be on the stage from 7.15pm.
Having just returned home from two wonderful weeks in Dawlish and the Warren I agree the new signage is excellent and will be very useful to tourist unfamiliar with the area. Staying in the Warren area I was please to see a new venue for food and drink ( The Silly Goose). I must say I was very impressed with the food, good value, plenty of it and very hot and certainly good to eat. On the other ...

The nine-week project, which was finished ahead of schedule, saw large sections of the hospital’s roof replaced after suffering years of leaking. Phase two saw the hospital’s 18-bed inpatient ward temporarily relocated to Teign Ward at Newton Abbot Community Hospital. The inpatient ward at Dawlish reopened on August 7, four days ahead of schedule. Read more.. ...
Pete, my posting is not about "winding people up". It is about people across the UK of any age who voted for these ultra right wing Tory's in 1980 starting with Margaret Thatcher, and continuing with David Cameron, We have not had decent one nation left of centre Conservatism since the days of Ted Heath, and as such I feel very strongly that because the British largely are neither interested in ...
I expect the screen will be more houses! They seem to have destroyed most of the tree line that was in place on the borders when they first started destruction, I mean construction!
@Michael Many thanks for that Michael. Very much appreciated.
Dawlish Airshow souvenir programmes are on sale now from the Dawlish Gazette, Marine Garage, Dawlish News, Tourist information center and Presents or you can download the online version later on today from www.dawlishairshow.co.uk
The fair is here and the carnival is on. There is fun to be had on the lawn! At the moment there is no green space but that is part of the beauty of Dawlish Lawn .. its versatility! Rather concerned that the planning application stands as is. Leaving the bid and the need to do something about the bandstand area aside, why does the existing plan breech planning policies S2, WE11 & EN5. Why ...
Hi Flo . I have read that they have been 'hacked' but they seem to have it sorted now. Many thanks.
Chris, we have become a throwaway society, we just dont care what we drop, or where we drop it. Come to that, we dont care what we do either.
We didn't go because we didn't know when anything was on as there was nothing on any website We went to Teignmouth because we could see online when it was on.
Mcjrpc. I have never worked in Europe but have gained knowledge from learning about Western Europe's social and economic culture. Im not talking about determination. I am saying that some people literally know what they want to do, and by hook and by crook they do it. The right wing are all about low income tax which we have, and a small State which we almost have. I am neither. I ...
To one and all. The reason behind councils wanting more money is becauseeeeeeee, wait for it!. Local authorites are being deprived of cash, and why. ?. Now this is the difficult bit. Across Western Europe the role of the State plays a vital part in investment and subsidy. The EU spends much more of its GNP on its vital services at both local and national level that our right wing ...
Two Second World War Lancaster bombers have flown together in the skies over Britain for the first time in 50 years - and are on their way to Devon. Canadian Lancaster Vera flew into RAF Coningsby ahead of appearing at the Dawlish Air Show on August 23 with Thumper, the aircraft owned by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The pair are the only two Lancaster Bombers that are still airworthy. ...
If you care to re read this thread Warrior, Andysport's reasons are quite clear and there is no ambiguity.
Okay allow me please to share some facts with you. Thatcher cut our income taxes in the 80's, and our National Insurance contributions. This is when our privatisations began. Britain's enterprise culture demands low income tax. We pay lower income tax compared to Western industrialised Europe. Factually and political Britain is fast losing the role of the State, and what the State ...
