Its well needed, but a Surgery on the Exeter side of Dawlish would have been better

I agree with roberta. I thought there was going to be one by the new Buntings Estate, i,m sure i remember it being in the original plans.

There always seems to be a surgery and a nursing home in the first draft of plans for big developments, then they get quietly dropped.

No doubt as part of the 'gentleman's agreement'.

It's not that they get quietly dropped, it's that no medical practices take up the opportunity, for whatever reason (presumably due to a perceived lack of demand felt by the practitioners?).

A prime example is the new Buntings development - the workspace was built there, but hasn't been taken up.

Are those shops at very front?  Wonder if they've had anyone take them up.

If 'they' aren't careful we will just have streets and streets of houses but with no facilities to go with them eg no shops, no dr surgeries, no chippies, no nuffin. All there will be, will be residences of one kind or another.

And what about a pub?

@Lynne it's been like that for a while.  i understand the four houses with balconies near elm grove wood were originally meant to be shops but later converted into houses.  i do hope we end up with something, a geralds would be useful @roberta.

Any playparks been provided this time or another cop out?  I really must go for a walk round, I think it was quoted on the site that approx 45% of the Buntings were sold.  It looks as if some are inhabited.

I did have a look around the other site, next to the school.  It's like a rabbit warren with the paths, none seem to lead anywhere!  Poor postman/woman!

@flo - Agree entirely about the site next to the school. Went around it delivering leaflets a couple of months back. Awful lay out. I guess if you live there you would get a mental map of it (eventually) but for the occasional visitor it's awful.

I even found the odd house or two facing into the courtyards located at the backs of groups of houses where those houses garages are located. Bizarre.  Who'd want a house that looked onto everyone else's garages and cars?

Houses on Buntings site definitely inhabited - I leafletted up there 'n all.

With this expansion, I cannot understand why Lloyds Pharmacy closed it's Strand shop, as waiting time now at the barton pharmacy is just ridiculous.

I have submitted prescriptions 2 weeks in advance and when going to collect it, it's still not ready.

There seems to be an issue with prescriptions Carer.  I never have any faith mine will be where they say it will!  Aren't they changing to electronic prescriptions? Can I also wish for a pharmacy over at Gatehouse too please?
