This is what the Inspector's Report of June 2013 said about the Warren Grove development and SANGS. "10.7 In addition, the s.106 Agreement makes provision for financial contributions toward the acquisition, maintenance and management of SANGS, to mitigate the impact that recreational use by future occupiers of the proposed dwellings might otherwise have on the SPA and SAC. The total of ...
@Lynne You can put out warnings like this until kingdom come but people will still fall victim to scams. How many times have we heard stories like this on the TV news, radio, newspapers, yet people still give details to strangers on the phone? I have had bona fide calls from my bank but I still refuse to give any details to them and I have complained bitterly to them for doing so, as they ...

Not seen the seal yet but there were several dolphins off Parson and the Clerk a couple of weeks ago.
An idea being mooted by some in the town is that Sandy Lane Playing Fields (not all of the site though! - just a yet to be identified bit of it) could be an ideal place to have a community orchard. What think ye all of that idea? There is already a community orchard scheduled for somewhere in DA2/DA6 (in plainspeak that's out Secmaton/Shutterton way where the new housing developments are ...
Whilst Merlin is/was undoubtedly connected to the food trade, they've nothing to do with Duck Aller Farm. That photo you've seen isn't Merlins profile photo, it's a photo posted by the webmaster into the Notices section of this website.

I can only assume that the webmaster deleted it because I posted a photo of the offending letter. Clearly he's scared witless about copyright infringements, so why he didn't just delete the photo - well, who knows?
Well leatash, that is your kids but that does not mean it is the same for every family that comes to Dawlish on holiday or for every family resident in Dawlish, so I don't find it strange at all. Just because the fair used to be separated from the carnival doesn't mean it should be now. No one on this forum has so far given a valid reason for separating the fair from the carnival or provided ...
just found this on thier facebook @Carer - thedawlishregattagmail.com
Oil prices are going down so we may see further reductions.
It's probably no coincidence that every time I go past Gay's Creamery it's packed with customers - it's open til 9pm and 7 days a week. Meanwhile this summer I've passed Witches Bowl, Reflections and Dabbling Duck in the afternoon and they've been shut. I haven't figured out if they've closed down or open and close when they feel like it.
I don't like to see sprawling housing estates but eighty years ago the people of Dawlish probably felt the same about the housing most of us currently live in - anyone seen th photos of Dawlish before the trees were chopped down to make way for all the housing up to East Cliff and West Cliff Roads. That's unfortunately how it is. If Mr Weeks doesn't farm his land he'd surely be rubbing his ...
I think that the staff at the railway station are very helpful and try their best to help all passengers. Unfortunately they are constrained by a lack of investment in better facilities at the station. For example, a lift is required to make both platforms properly accessible for disabled passengers, and for those with wheelchairs or pushchairs. If you arrive from Exeter after about 5pm there ...
@flo - yes.
Still not any comments (apart from Paul's) on the carnival itself .

Oil prices are falling supply and demand less demand cheaper fuel just the same as milk.
I don't think there would be so much of a problem if one of the original conditions of development had been the provision of a new road into the estate, possibly from the Exeter Road side.
First arson then this! There are some very bitter food traders in this town. I hope the greasy-haired #### gets caught and sent down.
Bought some plants via an honesty box from a front garden on Exeter Road earlier this year and then again, a couple of weeks back, similar set up, from outside a cottage in Cockwood.
@Lynn. Rail Strike on Sunday now ON. Talks broke down and continue Monday.
Click on this link. http://www.stellabenford.co.uk/collage/ there was talk at one time (last year I think) of whether the town council should purchase it. They didn't. This from the minutes of the 3.9.14 town council meeting: "(c) Artwork of Dawlish (Report TC 94 refers). Consideration was given to the purchase of a piece of artwork entitled “Jet Stream Meets Dawlish,” by a ...
I wonder whether the person who posted this video ever established who it was that they caught on camera...?
These car onboard cameras seem to be very popular these days...
A truck driver has admitted causing the death of a 62-year-old teacher in a traffic collision outside the Smugglers Inn pub in Dawlish last year. Brett Robins, 33, of Lower Drive, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court. The incident happened on June 4, 2014. Robins was driving a Renault motor lorry, on the A379 Teignmouth Road when it was ...
I noticed a few weeks back that all the signs saying that it was going to be a new taxi office and asking for new taxi drivers suddenly disappeared. All seems to have gone quiet on this. It hasn't gone to planning committee yet. Some more objections have been lodged recently including one by Michael Clayson with which I whole heartedly agree. Have a read of it. Document dated Monday 27th ...
DWP admits fabricating stories from benefit claiments who said they were "pleased" after being sanctioned ........................... Another screw up from the former failed prime minister, .....pension scandel, system cost overruns, what does this guy have to do to get sacked.????
I can see the Plymouth mob are back. Why dont they just give up?
