There are some names and faces on page two of this week's Gazette.
Ooh there's a question! I don't know, there's the usual pilots party with entertainment and I suspect a draw. If you're on facebook you could ask on their page or by the website, if you can't let me know and I'll text the committee member I know.
It's number 2 not 8. Here's the planning link. You never know, sales don't always go through, particularly when there are access disputes. If you are interested in moving to Dawlish keep your eye on Rightmove, Zoopla etc http://gis.teignbridge.gov.uk/TeignbridgePlanningOnline/SearchAddressMap.aspx?PropertyUprn=100040306269&x=296695&y=77042
@stephen15 I read the 'if' the first time, so what? The scenario is hypothetical, I was questioning the simplistic view that everyone is either Tory or Labour.
The father of a Commonwealth Games silver medallist has been jailed for dealing heroin out of the Warrington gym where she trained. Joseph Myers sent one shipment to Devon from the Judo club in Warrington where daughter Jodie is based and took another by car. Both were intercepted by police. Myers, of Waldgrave Place, Wavetree, supplied a consignment of 327g of heroin with a potential street ...
Now after 18 months, locals have been offered the chance to be the first to walk the full length of the revamped walkway, which runs alongside and protects the fragile coastal route. Mayor of Dawlish Howard Almond said the timing of the opening on Friday was perfect and would allow many visitors to make their way to evening celebrations of the carnival on foot. Read more... ...
How long do you need to be on this planet for to realise that politicians, in general, are out for what they can get? They don't push to be an mp for a minimum wage, no benefits, a pension worth nothing, no influence, no power, no ego boost. Money, influence, power, ego and a cream filling of self centeredness is what they are. At the end of the day it does not matter what party gets into power, ...
This will effect families in Dawlish. “Asked in April by a concerned young mother whether the Conservatives would cut tax credits for families with children, a nervous David Cameron , chasing votes on the BBC’s Question Time special, sounded clear enough before the general election. “No, I don’t want to do that,” Cameron said. A sceptical David Dimbleby wondered if he could guarantee it would ...
I know a local business that applied for the tender and didn't even get short listed.
Grockle time again. Drving around and parking in Dawlish an absolute nightmare , as is being a pedestrian. In all this chaos, the only thing that has remained consistent is the quality of Bailey's fish and chips. So how about turning the Marine garage into a border check point, a bit like Calais, fences , barbe wire etc. The only problem is if we follow the Calais model, Dawlish would ...

A MAN who stole £13,000 from a Dawlish holiday park then went on the run to Manchester has walked free from court after his family said they would help him pay back the cash. Jake Dunkley, 20, stole the money from a safe at the Golden Sands Holiday Park then fled to his home city in the north because he wanted to see the birth of his daughter. But he left a fingerprint at the scene and was ...
A BRANDED 'Visit South Devon' train has now been unveiled in the hopes that it's covering of South Devon scenery will encourage people to visit destinations on First Great Western's Riviera Line, between Exeter and Paignton. Councillor Andrew Leadbetter, Devon County Council's Cabinet Member for Economy and Growth, said: "This advertises a great example of what can be achieved through partner ...
Beekeepers with “insider knowledge” about rival colonies are thought to be behind the latest theft of thousands of honey bees. You would have to know where the hives were, you would have to protect yourself and you would have to go into the hive and know what you were looking for, which can be very difficult. Even experienced beekeepers fail to find the queen sometimes. Mr Lovett said that ...
All very well and I am in favour of limits and sizes, but what I would like to know is how are they going to enforce it with the beach anglers.
When you think of the word “remodeling” you probably imagine a never-ending nightmare of living in a construction zone. But not all remodeling projects have to last months and cost tens of thousands of dollars. If you’re itching to do a remodeling project that won’t take up a lot of time and money, consider fixing up your entry way. Over time, your front door begins to show its age. It may become ...
Thank you OurSoul. You forget SWW has an 03 number so if you've got free minutes tariff, it won't cost. Plus you get free on hold music while you wait to get through.
The public can have their say tonight 7pm at the Manor House.
And people voted for more government cuts. For every 'happy ending' story like this there are many more that aren't.
I'd never get a nap on an afternoon if I had to try to kip on that lot.
I hope as many of you as poss will be there on Sunday. All fees to our Helen Foundation. Thanks.
OurSoul, No i don't know if anyone else would be insured to drive the float. Lets hope it's sorted before the carnival and Dave will beable to drive if not i hope they will ask for help!

Congratulations indeed. Well done to all involved in this.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why we cannot have the river exe cruises Lleaving fom either starcross or teignmouth that are available at exmouth? Are the piers unsuitable or what.?
I had a quick look on the TDC website at the objections that are presently being lodged about this application (ironically one is from an address on one of the new build sites complaining about how this development will cause loss of view of open countryside!) Are solicitors, when they do searches for buyers on the already existing new build sites, not picking up on the fact that the whole area ...
Don't forget about the large stones that get thrown around in waves that could hit anyone or anything in its way. I remember seeing one of those photos in that shop in Park Road, Dawlish Blue I think it was called, that showed a large wave breaking over the station. The size of the rocks being thrown up in it were huge!!
