that joke is a hole in one,
Read the posts again. Yawn.
I was told by a Tory town councillor that I should vote for the person and not the party at local level. I also suggested they run as an independent. They talked about themselves a lot, talked ill of others, moaned about young people today, said they were a capitalist, explained that they voted Tory because their father had and that is how they were brought up (so no really thought or critical ...

Well done to all concerned with our beaches retaining these awards.
Really pleased to read that the preferred option is to place all local Minor Injury Units at Dawlish Hospital. Of course the likes of David Cox are whining about the consultation being unfair, but then losers like him usually do.
As I understand it, a solar farm can still be 'farmed'. Apparently, sheep farming can still be undertaken as the sheep graze between and under the panels. Also, again apparently, ewes like to lamb in the shelter created beneath the panels. Seems an ideal solution for struggling hill farmers...if their fields face the right direction. I imagine that free range chicken farming would also be ...
Ralph Rayner, director of Ashcombe Country Cottages, near Dawlish, Devon, wants to build a fibre optic broadband network to bring faster and more reliable speeds to people who live in and visit the area. After being told there are no plans to roll fibre out to the area, Mr Rayner started looking into building his own network, using local expertise and income from a solar farm on the estate. ...

Now about the sea wall! Just been talking to another security guard after i heard him mention next summer to someone and told him what i had been told yesterday and the latest is They have the casing for the steps but can't find anyone to make them. Not sure if this is a joke.
I had a lovely walk earlier today and I thought how beautiful Devon is in the springtime, then my mood changed somewhat and became darker as my thoughts turned to the impending civil war.

@HuwMatthews2 (11may 2015 22:22) - well said.
Very modern, space-age perhaps. I think they look great.

Just checked. I'm sorry for your situation. If I was in your shoes - and I really am not preaching here - I'd stay away from debating sites for a long while. I genuinely am sorry for your situation Brenda.
Better hope you don't fall ill over the next five years then.
Well put Fred Bassett. Hopefully the election result will be the start of real political change, not the end a false democratic process that people only get a chance to engage in once every five years. 'One nation' what a joke. The first past the post system is the modern day version of Charles I's divine right to rule. It does not and should not have anything to do with democracy as it ...
No Brenda the soil in between some of the trees at the bottom of our garden has washed away and we need to top it back up, had 72 tonnes in already and we can now start to see the results hopefully another 80 tonnes should be enough.
I thought things would get worse, this is a black day for 'Great' Britain. If I had to sum up the Tories surprise majority, which I definitely didn't expect. Then I'd use a military/war analogy. it's as if the Liberal democrats decided to fight for the wrong side for 5 years against Labour, then hand the Tories all their arms, then attempt to attack the Tories (a little bit but not so much ...
Agreed, they also had an opportunity to put themselves forward as a real alternative party, but played it safe in my opinion. But then there's a thin line between alienating or scaring voters and devising a vision to inspire. I think they underestimated how difficult it was to argue on matters other than tackling austerity and the economy. But then again the party's roots are middle class. ...
The electorate here is only 5 higher than in 2011.

I believe Fred Ford is commemorated on the Helles Memorial on one of the panels. This indicates he may well have 'died at sea' possibly on one of the many capital ship losses of the Royal Navy in the Dardanelles. He is in good company - each side of him are remembered, among many, 5 VC winners and 4 English and Scottish Rugby Internationals. RIP Fred. We Will Remember Them.
Everything else goes up in price, why expect Council Tax be an exception? Yes it's a stealth tax but that's because the council gets additional government funding if they freeze Council Tax. It's all smoke and mirrors, the bottom line is if you want services you have to pay for them. On the subject of flytipping, people who are inclined to do that sort of thing are not the kind of people ...
Mike Shelston (?) does ours. I don't have his No here but can get it. Probably best not done now until the end of August though.
I wish the Scots had voted for independence last year, I was more than happy to see them go. This isssue will just fester for the next few years, and I have no doubt they will end up walking away from the Union eventually.
Thanks for the replies. AndyLUFC, never thought I'd have network envy but I must admit I get pretty excited when 4G appears on my phone - not in Devon of course!
