Mr Dean said: “At the moment it’s a question of actually redesigning the railway and building a piece of brand new infrastructure through that area. He said the damage amounts to around twice as much as the Dawlish incident in early 2014. Read more... http://www.kentonline.co.uk/folkestone/news/commuters-to-get-refund-over-48448/

No hard shoulders from what I can see, so the first time their is a conked out vehicle or large crash how will the emergency services get to it. The other side of the road I suppose! Poorly thought out for plans going back over half a century for traffic volumes that were never envisaged in the future. A little to late in my opinion.
I'm sure if TDC's planning dept had to endure bouts of sewage outside their offices on a regular basis it would be resolved very quickly. When I walk around the local area and see some of the nightmare buildings that TDC have allowed planning permission on. Which are either just ugly (in my opinion) or just standout as alien in the location they have been built. This is only the start of ...

Ah, more detail in there, thanks Ziggy. It seems to be taking the route along the wall rather than through the path where the garden area is. Once they come out at the bus stop there's still the dangerous bit round the bend and I can't see how they will get around that. I still think the more sensible idea would have been to have the cycle path come out at Beach Street. They could have 'killed ...

I’ve just been reading an article in a housing magazine which says that housing associations could exempt hundreds of thousands of homes from Right to Buy. Last week, 5 housing associations launched a RtB pilot scheme. Apparently the landlords (ie housing associations) are free to decide which properties to exempt from RtB and those included in this exemption will include homes built under a ...

Not sure what you mean by 'bettering yourself' BEE9? Do you think a care worker on minimum wage should better themselves rather than look after you in your old age. Do you think that cleaners should better themselves or anyone else doing a job that perhaps doesn't pay a huge amount but is more worthwhile than some banker or politician? I know lets price everyone who actually works hard for a ...
It's so simple farmers sell land because they are not making profits from farming and we are all to blame as we demand cheaper and cheaper food a good case in point is milk. Six pints of milk for £1.48 it should be £2.48 and then farmers just might think twise before selling the same applies to most food production the only farmers making money are those who run large high teck farms. You could ...
So, we could have a hike in council tax to pay for social care. (see below for what George Osborne said about this in his Autumn Statement). " the health service cannot function effectively without good social care. The truth we need to confront is this: many local authorities are not going to be able to meet growing social care needs unless they have new sources of funding. That, in the end, ...
