Positive news!! Stop the presses!
This is the reality for nearly all users of the surgery, I'm pleased to say. The moaning minnies who have one of the rare poor experiences are entitled to their opinion, but they are far outnumbered by the silent and happy majority.
"91% of respondents were able to get an appointment or speak to someone". Doesn't that mean that nearly 1 in 10 people couldn't? It's a doctors surgery, why else would you call?!
The key word here is 'respondents' that is not everyone who attends or tries to get an appointment at the surgery. It is only the number of people who participated in the survey. Without a number for those who participated it is a little naive to assume the majority of people are happy with the services provided.
Also being able to speak to someone at the surgery is not necessarily going to get you an appointement or resolove the problem you have.
As to showing how hard the gp's are working - I think not, relative to their salary against most local people who work a damn sight harder and longer hours for a lot less money.
On occassion I have found the surgery acceptable and other occassions I have found a certain lack of professionalism, I did not participate in the survey as I was unaware of it, this could be indicitive of many who have attended the Barton surgery.
As always there is one barking dog.
Most the doctors aren't there half the time. It would be nice to see the same doctor every time you went. Instead, you get whoever is next available. You can, of course, make an appointment with a particular doctor in advance but the good ones are usually fully booked for weeks. There are two doctors I request another doctor when given an appointment with them.
