SHOPKEEPERS across Devon have been warned after a gang of Romanian men made several attempts to confuse cashiers out of large amounts of money.
The scam is known as ringing the changes and involves swapping notes mid-way through payment or trying to buy a low-value item with large notes and then confusing the cashier to get more back than was originally given.
Apparently this happened in Dawlish this weekend
