The collapse of the rail line at Dawlish had disastrous consequences for commuters and the South Devon economy.
With the government under new leadership it was important to hear the unequivocal support for a resilient rail link to South Devon and beyond.
The minister came to see the challenges at Teignmouth and Dawlish for himself and I was glad to have the opportunity to highlight how important it is the southern route is protected and prioritised.
