Officials from great Western Railway said traffic was still running through Dawlish on South Devon but all CrossCountry services have had to switch to FGW services and smaller trains.
If Cross Country trains cannot operate from EXD because of bad weather why can`t they run on the up line which is bi-directional. Trains can go from LP and to LP on this line. Problem solved, unless I am missing something.
@stephen15 it was so bad throughout the morning and into the afternoon that the waves were hitting the up platform so the cc voyager trains would have been hit whatever line they were on and then they would have broken down. it would be better if cc ran hsts on our route then they wouldn't have to stop at exeter.
@Margaret. Some XC trains are booked for HST although not many. Should have more. I don`t like voyager trains as you have problably guessed. Have a Happy new year.
It's only going to get worse with more and more disruption as the year's go on recent reports say we could have no train service for up to a third of the year as climate change takes hold so just get used to it people you aint seen nothing yet.
