First Great Western will be affected by strike action from 1830 on Wednesday to 1830 on Friday, with a further overtime ban until 2359 on Saturday evening.

It is anticipated that the main disruption will occur on Thursday and Friday, with limited disruption at other times.

The train service in our region will be as follows on Thursday and Friday:

  • Exeter to Paignton stopping service (calling at Exeter St Thomas, Starcross, Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth, Newton Abbot, Torre, Torquay and Paignton and vice versa): One train every two hours.
  • London Paddington to Plymouth (in this area calling at Exeter SD, Newton Abbot and Totnes and vice versa): One train every two hours
  • Exeter to Exmouth: One train every two hours
  • Barnstaple branch: One train in each peak
  • Plymouth to Penzance: One train every two hours in either direction

Full details of train services are given on our website: https://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/strike

Services are not yet confirmed and there are likely to be heavily used, with a lot of disruption expected. Many stations in the area will also be unstaffed but this will not be known until the day concerned

CrossCountry trains will still be operating (there may be potential for short notice changes) but will also be very busy on the days concerned.

Please pass this message out to as many people as you can.
