I was told September sometime, can't exactly remember the date but the Manor office should be able to tell you.

You can ask a question on their web site which the Town Clerk will read and respond

I can't make that date so out of interest what is the opinion of people here?

I'm against a ban.

I am too.  We know the boozers don't look good for Dawlish but then neither does the shabby viaduct, the bandstand or the permanent scaffolding by the Teignmouth Inn.     Ban them and they'll just move to the sea wall.

Why is a ban being mooted? Because of the unsociable drinkers who congregate there?

If so, how can the ban be enforced? And even if it can be enforced it won't stop those unsociable drinkers from drinking will it? Surely, all that will happen is that they'll just move on to somewhere else. Lea Mount? The skate park at Sandy Lane Playing Fields? The derelict pavilion at Sandy Lane Playing Fields? The Warren?

I'm  opposed to a  ban as well.

See you both at the AA meeting later, Duckileaks and Netiquette.

See you at the bench afterwards Elvis.  I will bring some Prosecco and plastic champagne flutes to raise the tone.

Elvis, can I have a fishcake too?

To be slightly more serious, I think drinking ban is unnecessary as Police already have enough powers to deal with drunken behaviour.  The issue surely is that there are not enough Police Officers to deal with the drunken behaviour!

A drinking ban will affect the sensible and responsible and fund-raising events too.

Sorry Duckileaks,  I  don't  do serious or fishcakes. But I  expect you noticed.
