Rogue clowns infiltrating local carnival processions and fleecing families, warning

With carnival season well underway in South Devon, revellers are urged to be vigilant when it comes to these crafty clowns.

They create sword balloons before charging parents anything between £2 and £5 for them, as well as money to have their photos taken with kids.

"They give the sword balloon to your child, which you think is free. Then they hold out their hand for money.

"But the kids are gutted when you take it off them. That is a very clever tactic to earn money."
