Mug I wrote to her through http://www.writetothem.com and got a response. Admittedly not the one I wanted but a detailed response nonetheless!

I would like to convey my thanks to all who attend the exhibition at Dawlish RBL last Saturday 30th April, and especially the Framing Lot and Lloyd Maunder for their support. A total of £37:50 was raised which will be going to the annual Poppy Appeal. The Photography Section meet every Wednesday at 7pm , except the 18th May, and new members are welcome, especially beginners, so why not come ...
I was being facetious about Mr Winchester's official position... ;-) Good luck to the new IVFD councillors - I hope that they talk with the citizens they represent - rather than talk down to them as a lot of the self-proclaimed elite in this town have a habit of doing. Welcome to the 21st century, Dawlishians!!!!
Thank you Vanguard - Mr Vickery for taking the time to reply. I apologise for not responding to you sooner, life and family have a habit of taking over at times! I responded to Mr Clayson before I saw this and I hope you read my reply to him too. I've read your response and I agree with some of what you have said, not all, but enough to feel there is some common ground. This is obviously too ...
Thank you Mr Clayson for taking the time to reply, eventually. My turn - I hoped to start a debate possibly involving several members of this forum, I hoped for some genuine feedback, I had genuine questions that I would have liked answered. Maybe my style of posting is too flippant and that didn't really come over - but that's my style and I'm sticking to it! One of the beauties of internet ...
Supermarket giant Tesco's inquiry into it's store at the Exeter Road, Dawlish site will resume on Tuesday May 17th at 10am in Teignbridge Council Offices, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot. The inquiry initially opened in October but was adjourned after it overran. It was re scheduled for December for 3 days but was adjourned because of the cold weather snap. It is thought the planners will ...
Dawlish is among 17 areas to be given more power over what can be built and where. It's part of a pilot scheme to test the goverment's proposed radical shake-up of the planning system.
Thank you for a very comprehensive explanation
Up to 20 firefighters tackled a fire at a detached property called Saint Omer at The Humpy, Badlake Hill, Dawlish. The fire which started in the bathroom cracked windows and melted the shower. Two crews from Dawlish, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot dealt with the blaze. Neighbours heard the fire alarm and went to see what was going on, they saw smoke coming out of the building and called the fire ...
Don't forget all you dog owners as from today dogs are allowed on the beach from the slipway adjacent to the Railway Station until 230 metres before Red Rock at Dawlish Warren. There is a notice from the Red Rock towards Dawlish but nothing from Dawlish to the Red Rock!

J Warrener: Good point! I see the Green who stood in Dawlish in 2009, won a town council seat last year....and gave it up the next day! http://www.peoplesrepublicofsouthdevon.co.uk/2010/02/08/totnes-by-election-blues-for-the-greens/ Saving paper, but wasting council-tax payers money!
Seagulls are a problem everywhere. I was sat on the perimeter wall around Exeter Cathedral on Good Friday when a seagull swooped and snatched food out of the hand of a lady sat next to me. Shit happens, it won't stop me from sitting there again! Seagulls have always been a pain - it's not a recent phenomenon! :-)
The Exeter Inn in Beach Street, Dawlish has reopened
Agree with your point Steve, with insurance companies kicking up such a fuss about properties in flood risk areas, how can any planning authority, builder or house buyer ever consider a property in an area like Dawlish Warren. It should not be allowed and flooding is only one reason. For years the area has been earmarked as holiday accommodation only with huge restrictions on the number of ...
16 new affordable homes at the Sandpipers devolopment in Dawlish Warren has been acquired by Cornerstone. It's the second devolopment for Cornerstone in Dawlish. The homes will be rented out to people with local connection to Dawlish and the shared ownership houses are restricted to people living or working in Teignbridge. You know what, You may have the "mindset" right.. I reported an untethered staffie, which was allowed to threaten a black swan, recently, at 2.50 p.m. I went to great lengths to point out the current location of the person, but SHE... went in a different direction. What is the "Handover time" for the police??? Not Happy.

Only two cygnets have been born and 12 eggs have disappeared. Staff at the Dawish town's aviary say they have never known a year like it and believe seagulls are to blame. Dawlish waterfowl warden Derek Porter said if the swans leave their nest the seagulls are there straight away, the eggs are fairly big but the gulls manage to take them and damage them. The blach swans have been a major ...
The pensioners who get off the coaches wont have far to walk then, to get thier oldern day sweet fix. Better a sweet shop than an empty eye sore. At least these type of shops have the majority of its stock made in Britain, unlike supermarkets and newsagents , where most of its stock, especially chocolate, is now manufactured abroad.
Smokey you are right about these prefabs still being around. I have seen them on Rightmove in parts of England. I think Wiltshire but can't be sure off hand. The problem is not the cost of building houses but the cost of land marked for residential purposes. This is completely under the control of government along with the bank of England base rate. Having bailed out the banks, which ...
Just read a very interesting story on South West Business at the following link http://www.southwestbusiness.co.uk/homepagetest/action-curb-superstores/article-3432356-detail/article.html Its seems rather two faced that the NFU want to support their members regarding price but wont support any campaigns to stop supermarket construction
A 53 year-old youth leader from Kingskerswell has been arrested and released on police bail in connection with allegation of sexual abuse. Mike Stevens was arrested following an allegation of indecently assulting a boy under the age of 16. thought the range of flowers and plants was poor for mothers day. the display didnt look good either. think the shop could do with a change of personnal. i like steve as he's loyal to the job but looking at the shop it looks like it could do with a change.
Jason Jerome who lives in Dawlish with his girlfriend and her two children admitted arson at Exeter crown court and was given a two-year community order. Jerome became suicidal after given up his job as a fireman to become a house husband. His girlfriend restrained him after he doused himself in lighter fluid and was about to set it alight.
So much for transparency. Same old, same old I'm afraid. Good luck with the campaign though.
Good morning folks. Thanks for the replies. Appreciated. I'll be back....some good discussions going on here. C
As I said, why not make your experience public via the press? I appreciate you might not want to 'go public' but that sounds just like the type of story they might be interested in and you never know, it might result in some reaction from those you mention above. I just feel that if people don't make a public fuss about what is going on/ what their situation is then the powers that be just ...
This is from today's Herald Express New owners at soft play centre A PURPOSE-built soft play centre with a 40-seat café in Dawlish has been sold for £59,950 to new owners Jonathan and Kathy Baldwin from Enfield in Middlesex.
