He said it wasUNCONFIRMED but as so many people were saying it posted a warning just in case. The Dawlish Neighbourhood Police have a FB Page but its taken them until today to comment!!!! Ido wish you would write in English !!!!!!!

Brilliant news and a massive boost to the local economy. Just when the tourists industry is usually slowing down for the winter , the weather has been a massive tonic. If only it would continue for longer.
As far as I am aware DARE is a group of people concerned with questioning and challenging a lot of what has been in the past, and is now again, being proposed for Dawlish. You may have noticed that I also do a lot of questioning and challenging. I do not always agree with DARE but for what it is worth I am very glad that the organisation exists.
However, perhaps I was wrong as to the intentions of the men looking at the trees:- http://www.dawlish-today.co.uk/News.cfm?id=36369&headline=No-go%20for%20Strand%20echelon%20parking%20proposals
I have had a look on the internet and they are Tamarisk trees. Many thanks guys for your input.
Right...got the Allotment Association on board.. Operation get Dawlish more allotments has begun. :)
Co-op are trying to bulldoze their way into Ashburton where they aren't wanted too ... I'd be really interested to know Co-ops wealth with all the property they own.
Don't forget the meeting being held tomorrow evening!

I use the re-cycling bins off Exeter road, on the path to Coastguard Cottages, and noticed today that most of the bins on this site have been padlocked, does anyone know why??
Thanks very good recommendation :-) I have spoken to John and as you said he is very busy but he is still coming around to give me some advice.

Question/comment # 3 - Schooling. As there's no new primary school being shown on the plan I take it that Gatehouse school will need to expand in order accommodate all the extra kids emanating from the 1600 new houses to be built just across the way and to the side of it. But......hang on a minute......... hasn't Gatehouse recently lost land to the development scheduled to be built on Mr G's ...
Two people were assaulted by a male attacker in Dawlish Friday, September 16, near to the Sainsbury’s petrol station. One female was left with a serious facial wound. A police helicopter located the male suspect and he was arrested near the Langstone Rock in Dawlish Warren. A gang of eight men who "flooded" a city with heroin and crack cocaine have been jailed. Exeter Crown Court was told the LYNC gang boasted of being able to supply drugs in Exeter "all day, every day". The gang used a park at Cowick Barton in the city as its centre of operations. Two men from Greater Manchester - Kevin Newton, 30, and Billy Downing, 22 - were jailed for nine and ...

shud b gud. mite pop in2 hole in wall on satday on way 2 sainos.
As it clearly says it on the sign, you cant moan. You could have picked up some mints , toilet roll or anything you knew you would use and gone over £6.
I dont think Dawlish 'needs' anything ..if anyone suggests anything new, nobody likes that idea. If you do nothing ..nobody likes that idea either!
Wonder if any of our town centre traders would wish to attend? Perhaps some kind soul could bring this event to their attention. Information forwarded by the Devon Towns Forum TheSomerset Town Forum invites you to share experiences of supermarket developments in our towns over the last 5-10 years. The event will be held on 5th October in Shepton Mallet, please see attachment for further ...

What about the property along the Exeter Road over looking the sea? Thats in a very dangerous state.
A number of licensed premises in Dawlish and Teignmouth were visited by police aiming to identify people who may have controlled drugs in their possession. On Friday September 2nd the operation was a success and led to the arrest of a woman found to be in possession of controlled drugs, the home address of the woman was also searched and futher illegal substances were found. I wonder if anyone can help. Im looking to buy a Rocking Horse for my Grandaughter. Ive been told of a company that trades on the internet called" The 1 for U ltd " that are based down shutterton lane. Has anyone had any dealings with this company , are they decent and are the Rockinghorses of a good quality. As you can imagine they arent cheap , so i want as much info before buying . cheers.
Yes Brazilnut, you are quite right, comparing a high street which has major stores like Waterstones, W H Smith and various clothing stores with Dawlish is nonsense, there are no stores to attract anyone. If you take away parking in the Strand it will be deserted. Also agree parking is badly organised and must be more restriced to allow better access for buses amd large vehicles to get through.
According to some traders in Dawlish taking's have dropped by 50% since the new Sainsbury's store opened. Some traders are even considering not renewing the leases on their town premises. One store has had to reduce staffing hours. The new Sainsbury's store at the Shutterton Bridge opened four weeks ago and it is beleived the initial surge of interest with shoppers wanting to see the new store ...
@flo I've not heard a date mentioned - all I've heard is "soon". Wonder why it's thought it won't be popular with residents........though I understand that if that should turn out to be the case the public will be perfectly entitled to tell 'them' where to shove it! (allegedly). We shall see.
I agree, the first thing one see's when approaching Dawlish by train is a tired, rusty unkept bridge and we all know what first impressions create. Once off the station one see's a tired neglected viaduct bridge which any decent engineer would be appalled to view. Then we make our away along the Brook and see weed and algae collecting debris and litter. This all has an effect on the general ...
Have you had your bicycle stolen recently? Two stolen bicycles were dumped in gardens at Dawlish Warren. Police are trying to trace the owners. If you think one might be yours you can contact the police on 08452 777444 quoting A /27647.
Mug on head (surely should be 'Nob on head') what on earth is wrong with you? ive just had a quick glance throught some of your other comments. You are the most negative person out there, with that attitude there is noway you would of made any success out of any buisness, maybe that 1 million pound invesment had very little return hence your miserble attitude?? Good luck to emerald, looks like ...
Yes most unfair this one. Up to now, only the 18+ machines have been subject to this tax,on top of the individual licence that every machine has required. Now every machine is included, including the coin shovers and the fluffy toy cranes(dont expect to win one of those easily lol). Harrisons is part of the nobles group so i think they may survive,i can see a lot of the little independents going ...
Maybe someones had a word then.because she is(or has been) commented apon by quite a few people, just because they dont put it on here doesnt mean its isolated incidents. I know some customers can try the patience of a saint, but the secret is to bitch and moan once theyve paid and left, and definately not get stroppy just because they ask you a few questions. For a shop that depends mainly on ...
The new section of the Exe Estuary Trail which cost £889,500 is now open. Walkers and cyclists can now enjoy the trail between Cockwood and Dawlish Warren. The north section of the trail connects to the already completed path up to Powderham Church. To the south it connects to the existing Lady's Mile path and into Dawlish.
