The Data Protection Act is an interesting one. Where I work we have to take it very seriously as we deal with personal data all the time. E.g. How do you know the spouse is still with their other half? You don't, and when dealing with money it's imperative that you're certain.
Im on TPS but still get the calls from abroad, it doesn't seem to cover that, and so many call centres are now based abroad, I always know its early evening and the 'private number'. What gets to me is if you do answer it and say you're not interested, they just hang up - rude if you ask me.
Thank you all for your recommendations! Very helpful and good to know. Hopefully the car will be running properly again soon. Thanks again!

Seems simple enough to me and im in my fifties. I agree with the others , its good to see a company looking after its customers.
Had a day off today and finally made it into the Exeter for lunch with my husband. Both really enjoyed the food (steak and curry) and the lovely relaxed atmosphere. Great to finally get somewhere within walking distance that we like in Dawlish.
Gould, 28, of Parkham Road, Brixham, admitted affray and attempted wounding and was made subject to a hospital order by Judge Phillip Wassall. The judge told him: "It was a truly murderous and sustained attack. You were intent on stabbing him. It was a frenzied attack which was only unsuccessful because of the sheer extent of the fight PC Moore put up. The paranoid schizophrenic was sent to a ...
Many thanks, indeed it is very difficult to keep on top of such stuff.
I think in the space available they have a very good range of products. They are good at opening more checkouts when they see queues forming, so generally service is very good. I know several people who said they would never shop there as they would only support local shops in Dawlish, however, I have seen them at ALL at Sainsburys and they admit plenty of parking and being able to buy everything ...
SHE was labelled the mother-in-law from hell after a vitriolic email she wrote about her son's "uncouth and ill-mannered" bride was sent around the world and became an internet sensation. But yesterday the couple went ahead and tied the knot without upper-crust Carolyn Bourne, who had castigated their big day as "brash, celebrity-style behaviour". Read more: ...
I've never really understood this affordable housing malarkey. It just seems to me to be some scheme to sell houses to first time buyers whilst trying to ensure house prices do not fall in the area. The thing people have to realise is that the last decade of house price rises were due to overlending by banks and overborrowing by property speculators causing a housing bubble. Inevitably the economy ...
Thursday 17th November. 6.30pm at Forde House, N. Abb. Simon Thornley, TDC's Service Lead for Spatial Planning and Delivery and Naomi Harnett, TDC's officer responsible for the district's town centres and economic development, will be giving a talk on Localism in Action. Anyone going from Dawlish?
£2million will be invested in Lady's Mile Holiday Park. A planning application has been submitted to Teignbridge Council to erect 200 solar panels at the park. 45 luxury lodges and a new childrens splash park will also be added. The first of 45 new lodges are due for delivery in January. Tesco wanted to build a store on the Lady's Mile site but following a protracted legal battle with planners, ...

Police are appealing for information about an assault that took place on Saturday, October 22 at around 9.15pm in the Dawlish Delights takeaway in the resort's Brunswick Place. During what police described as an unprovoked assault, a 27-year-old local man suffered a suspected broken nose after he was punched in the face by an unknown man. A Dawlish man who carried out illegal dentistry practices has pleaded guilty. Stephen Sickelmore ran an illegal denture fitting and supply business from his home on Old Gatehouse Road in Dawlish. Devon County Council's Trading Standards Service carried out a long and detailed investigation into Mr Sickelmore's activities following complaints from customers. The case was adjourned to a later date ...
The London 2012 site answered my question: Where will the Torch actually be carried by a Torchbearer? We want to give our Torchbearers who carry the Olympic Flame a sense of occasion and a crowd helps with that. As a result, Torchbearers will carry the Olympic Flame in many rural communities but it is not a continuous Relay of people passing the Olympic Flame to each other. Between communities, ...
I love the word Pelagic Wriggler - I'm going to try and use it. There was a question about Barnacles on University Challenge tonight - the answer was (sadly) not Pelagic though!

Got no problem with rainbow , as DP says once you get used to it , its fairly easy to understand. As for bullying, how is that possible on a computer, when people dont tend to know who you are.

PEOPLE heading to the three of Teignbridge's main towns will now be able to enjoy free parking on Sundays. Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Dawlish will have free Sunday parking in their council-run car parks. The trio are joining rural areas in offering free Sunday parking as part of a Teignbridge District Council pilot scheme aimed at boosting local trade and cutting costs to motorists. Read the ...
Yes unfortunately Lynne, a particular person looks intent on destroying this site, i think ignore and scroll are the best options. Here's to moving on and showing others what a very special place Dawlish is and, with the help of locals, good planning, etc, will move on and start once again to flourish. The words I hear so often from friends on holiday, etc, is what a pretty town Dawlish is. We ...
should say i will be there. lol.
Sorry to hear about your loss Libby and in particular the way it happened. It's devastating to lose a family pet under any circumstances but to lose your dog in the way you describe must be even more hearbreaking.
as Rainbow 1 said for bulb planting to do with Dawlish in Bloom page 3 todays Gazette
I know this is something minor but this disappoints me so much about Dawlish. My 8 year old son carved a pumpkin on Sunday. We lit candles in the pumpkin and put the pumpkin outside our front door last night to go with the window display both my sons had worked hard on. We had a couple of kids knock the door in about half and hour and then no more. I thought I would check if the candles in the ...
