Just encountered a good reason for not building anymore houses in Dawlish.

Woke up feeling a bit ill.

Two days to see doctor

eventually get a perscription for 3 - items

Boots on the Strand as usual have no stock of any of the items

Lloyds at Bartons 10 deep in cripple barra's and stinky old folk moaning its to hot

maybe they should cull the over 80s along side the Sea Gulls

That should free up some housing locally

Do the coach companies run day trips to Barton Surgery and the Chemists for the old Gits a bit like going to Trago?

What a very unpleasant person you must be. Not even remotely funny, but extremely offensive.

Unpleasant to some possibly, funny can be, offensive not usually but when I cant get a simple prescription for two days and then have to waste my time running round various chemists losing me business at the rate of £XX/hour then I think I have reason to make a point that by your response Fannyann you have obviously missed.

The surgery needs to keep appointments open for people under retirement age who haven't got time to wait about for hours and are genuinely ill, and the doctors in this technological age should be able to prescribe items that the chemist actually has in stock. As for the chemists themselves they seriously need to review their dispensing systems even if this involves employing more staff.

On the side of the elderly its also not acceptable for them to be queuing ten deep for ages. Why cant the prescriptions print out directly in the pharmacy and be ready for collection as the patient leaves the surgery.

How are they going to cope with thousands more patients when all these proposed houses are built.

Also don't forget to actually see a doctor in the first place you have to have the surgery no. on speed dial, start ringing before 8.30, get the recorded message & then miss the slot as it's engaged for the next half hour. By the time you eventualy get through you can't see your own doctor as they're all booked up. Can't really see it getting any better with more patients.

Mug On Head you certainly are not a happy man if you want some really good advise MOVE and be miserable some where else your comments are never constructive and are offensive. On a personal note i have always managed to get a appointment to see a doctor the same day and in the not to distant past have had fabulous support from the team at the surgery personally i cant fault the doctors or the surgery staff

@leatash

Once again you also are missing the point and are also incorrect.

The point I am trying hard to make is that our local services can barely cope with the population as it stands at around 13,000, and none of these house building proposals seem to be including any infrastructure additions. If you build houses on mass you need other basic facilities like Health centres, shops, schools, better transport, etc.

As regards being happy Iam normally very happy but havent got the time or money to waste queuing up for hours and running around trying to get simple medication. With regards to being offensive what I and others witnessed the other day was a statement of fact, which if you care to ask as you say the excellent staff you will also find they get fed up with the same situation at times. If you want offensive try asking some of these elderly types to come back later or go to another chemist you will soon see offensive then.

As you are an avid supporter of excessive house building and supermarkets perhaps its you who needs to move. Try the inner city areas of Birmingham or Glasgow. My comments are made in an effort to protect our lovely town from greedy out of town developers who dont give a stuff about Dawlish or you and me.

A lot of people move here with money for exactly what it is, a peacefull normally safe little seaside town. There is no reason other than quick money making greed by these opportunist developers for that to change.

@MugOnHead

So you don't think the following sentence could possibly be found offensive:

Lloyds at Bartons 10 deep in cripple barra's and stinky old folk moaning its to hot

As somebody else has already commented, you sound a thoroughly unpleasant person.

Offensive to some maybe, but still a true statement of fact. If you dont believe go ask to see the CCTV for that day. I stood there for 15 mins listening to them and the queue hadnt moved. I was probably the youngest in the queue and Im getting on a bit. Incidently the worlds full of unpleasant people and most are a lot worse than me open your eyes or watch the news

@burneside

Why? Does it make a difference to the point being made or the truth being stated. I suppose you are squeaky clean with God given opinions.

Everyone to their own eh!

How about we get on with life and forget this issue now

You post extremely unpleasant comments on a public forum and are surprised that people challenge you? I gather you run a business, I wish I knew which it was so I don't put any custom your way.
