Organised by the Dawlish Coasters, the Dawlish Dash is just under four miles, starting and finishing at Dawlish Warren.
Ellie Sutcliffe was there for the June 14 event in the Harriers’ colours.
The first half of the race is run on the beach and you have to negotiate a dozen or so coastal defence groins.
After three quarters of a mile you turn around, run all the way back again, and then follow the sea wall almost as far as Dawlish before going over the railway bridge to the coastal path and a one mile steady canter back to the Warren.
