A convicted murderer attacked a nurse with a rock after being moved from jail to a mental hospital and allowed to go on a shopping trip.

Steven Wills became angry after nurse Millie Davis ordered him back to the hospital at Dawlish because he had broken the rules and walked away on his own.

He picked up a large stone from the roadside and smashed her over the head. He then hurled a second rock at her and said “You’re lucky I’m letting you live.”
