Saw Gary last night. He seemed to enjoying himself. Does anyone know who the drummers were who were last in the parade. I thought they were great. Edit: To answer my own question - seems they are called Spark. https://www.facebook.com/dawlishcelebratescarnival/videos/2012238218840750/
I wonder if these trains will be as popular as the HST, and still be a workhorse of the railways in 40 years time? Someone I know who uses them on the Bristol route is far from impressed with these new trains. I guess we'll soon find out.

There was a suggestion in 2016/17 that a large playpark should be sited between the bandstand and the bowling green. Whilst some welcomed this suggestion it proved contentious, and anyway what had been proposed to the public in the 2016 consultation(a large playpark taking up most of that space) had subsequently been reduced in size as what had been proposed, due to cost, was not viable. So what ...

It is not in the least unusual for threads to wonder off the original topic - that is what discussions do. This thread for example https://www.dawlish.com/thread/details/46183 is about the proposed playpark on the lawn and the public consultation. However, at one point (see postings dated (25.7.18) it wondered off topic. It then went back to the original subject - and so far has stayed there. and ...
This thread got derailed by Lynne, God only knows why she had to bring Brexit into a discussion about the car park.
Good luck to the new owners.
Wollaston campaigned for Brexit until just two weeks before the referendum, but then had a sudden change of mind and came out supporting Remain instead. Wholly unreliable, and can't be trusted in my opinion.
I understand that the government isn't making contingency plans to stockpile food - it believes that is the duty of the food industry. The food industry say they have not been consulted about such measures by the government and anyway they do not have the capacity to stock pile food.

I saw them closer to Dawlish than that. Swimming close by the viaduct jetty one morning last week, but there were only three.
That just makes it more corrupt and more illegitimate, two (or more) wrongs don't make a right

The irony is that these Brexiteers want us to go back in time to 50 years ago, but will have to wait another 50 years for that to happen! And the vast majority of them of course will be long long gone by then...

Great, so the next shop to close on the Strand will be the opticians, who, in my experience, are very, very good. Shame our beautiful little town seems to have the self destruct button permanently activiated!

It's nothing new and it will continue as long as the wrong people are voted onto the council. Councillors should be in control but those that are employed by the council always have the upper - hand. Remember Bulbeck is a lawyer and they know how to manipulate. It is not a case of the blind leading the blind, it is those with eyes wide open that lead the blind.

Water, if public control took over once again, could be controoled in a more public friendly way. If the water companies that are now, were to link up the pipe lines, then there should not be a shortage in one particular place. why will they not do that? Some now have more leaks than others and don.t really give a damn about rectifying it. There should be legislation in place to control the amount ...
“Nearly 80 percent of British food imports come from EU member states and if no trade agreement is struck Britain and the EU would have to treat each other as WTO members. As an EU member, Britain pays no tariffs on the 20 billion pounds a year of food it imports from elsewhere in the bloc, but after it leaves the default option would be to levy standard tariffs set by the World Trade ...
