No, I haven't read the plans. I just know my learned pals on here would have all the answers. Yep a steel container sounds bad.

Here is the rub, if the old line is re opened when the next storm demolishes the present coast line.Would the government be unwilling to repair or would nature take over.

Yes I know that (and thanks for your help). I asked as there are no minutes online for any of the full council meetings since July of this year. That is why I asked the question as there is (presently) no way for me (or anyone else for that matter) to check. Just wondered if anyone reading this had been in the public gallery at any time since July and noticed whether or not they had been ...
What needs to happen though is, that those that are working should not have to live off benefits and regularly go to food banks just to live. So, do you live to work or work to live?
I just happened across this FOI concerning TDC playpark closures and budgets. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/playground_budgets_and_closures_275#incoming-897575
I hope that Peter Harry and Martin Dix (not Dicks) made their peace before the latters sad passing. What a double act they were. Welcome back Leatash, hope you had a good break.

@majorp you may have friends on bigger councils than a small town council, if we didn't have small town councils they bigger councils wouldnt have much to do. they all twiddle thumbs where needed and deal with things that don't need attention like a new playpark or a resturant on tucks plot.
It isn't rate payers money! It is money that has come from developers. Part of the planning agreement for Sainsbury's to be built was that it should give an amount of money (£200,000 I think it was) for use in the town centre. This money has to be spent within 10 years of the commencement of the building of Sainsbury's. So we are looking at it being spent by 2021/2022. If the money isn't spend ...

Panto season is upon us. Oh yes it is! Time to take your seats and prepare for sly digs, saucy jokes, slapstick routines and, most important of all, to join in with the show. Exeter’s Northcott Theatre – now thriving and celebrating its 50 anniversary after teetering on the brink of closure seven years ago – is preparing to raise the curtain on its first pantomime since 2009. Director and ...

Many people are at a loss for a response when someone says "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Read on and you'll be able to handle the situation intelligently. ...
Well, a Cross-Country train came through fine yesterday just before 11. And the sea didn't look particularly rough.
Margaret Swift, the traffic that early on a Saturday is negligible. 20 to 25 coaches are hardly going to make much of a difference. I wonder if the people of Okehampton moaned as much as you lot when this fantastic event was held there this year???
Yeah, it is old but no reason why it should not be mentioned again. Keep the kettle boiling until the bottom drops out.

Once a script is made up, it is for that person only. The drugs cannot be put back in stock. Some drugs have a limited shelf life, but as you all know, there is a label on the boxes and that label cannot be easily removed. It can be removed with care but who is going to take the trouble and time to do that? There is a bar code on most everything we buy these days and there is more information in ...
ZIGGY@ nice to see the barriers in place, I've seen the odd cyclist shoot down there when pedestrians have been coming the other way...I suppose the cyclist's will just go on the grass, that being the one's that actually use the cycle path. Nice shot of the cygnet's.

I thought this info might be useful. The following are the grounds on which planning permission is most likely to be refused (although this list is not intended to be definitive) : • Adverse effect on the residential amenity of neighbours, by reason of (among other factors) noise*, disturbance*, overlooking, loss of privacy, overshadowing, etc. [*but note that this does not include noise or ...
It was interesting to read in this weeks Gazette that nearly 1500 Dawlish residents are aged 75 or over. That’s more than 10% of the towns population.
