Great, so the next shop to close on the Strand will be the opticians, who, in my experience, are very, very good. Shame our beautiful little town seems to have the self destruct button permanently activiated!

No they would have left because they don't generally transport the dead, they are a resource for the living
It's nothing new and it will continue as long as the wrong people are voted onto the council. Councillors should be in control but those that are employed by the council always have the upper - hand. Remember Bulbeck is a lawyer and they know how to manipulate. It is not a case of the blind leading the blind, it is those with eyes wide open that lead the blind.
Wef next Thursday, the new time will be 1-4pm (was 3-6pm) Sellers from 12 mid-day.
Police confirm a man has died Awful news. Police have confirmed that a man has died at The Lawn public toilets in Dawlish this evening. The man’s next of kin have not been informed, so there will be no further statement from police on this incident tonight.

The EU will lose its third largest financial contributor, the 2016 figures show our contributions amounted to 13.45% of the EU budget,. That's quite a large hole to fill once we've gone.
Darrell Rose, 36, strangled his girlfriend Geraldine Mellor, 32, after she tried to break up with him. Exeter Crown Court was told neighbours heard Miss Mellor shouting "get out, get out" at Rose during an argument in her room. However, the court heard how he had previously tried to strangle a former girlfriend and a nurse at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish. Read more... ...

And now he's backtracking on what he said to Putin (in public) about the alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 US presidential election. According to Trump he (Trump) "mis-spoke".
Water, if public control took over once again, could be controoled in a more public friendly way. If the water companies that are now, were to link up the pipe lines, then there should not be a shortage in one particular place. why will they not do that? Some now have more leaks than others and don.t really give a damn about rectifying it. There should be legislation in place to control the amount ...
“Nearly 80 percent of British food imports come from EU member states and if no trade agreement is struck Britain and the EU would have to treat each other as WTO members. As an EU member, Britain pays no tariffs on the 20 billion pounds a year of food it imports from elsewhere in the bloc, but after it leaves the default option would be to levy standard tariffs set by the World Trade ...
Zoom in on Naval warship from field above Meadow Park.. Pic taken from Boat Cove. Zoom in from toilets at Boat Cove to Exmouth beach. Used a filter on recently purchased Fuji xp80 camera, something different.
Damien Jones, head of transportation coordination service, told councillors that Cross Country Trains were looking to eliminate or reduce some services to Plymouth, Penzance and Torbay, and that they want to save the resources to invest back in the Midlands where they have issues with capacity, but this would have a knock-on effect on stations such as Dawlish and Teignmouth as it would change ...
A famous steam train has passed through Devon today - the 60009 Union of South Africa ran along the picturesque Dawlish sea wall line. How do you cross the railway line to get to the beach? I understood that all that land belonged to Network Rail and they have strict regulations about building work, access, etc.

The South West is among the worst off regions in the UK for spending on public buildings, road and rail. It reveals that over the past twenty years, the region has had £18.20billion, about £3,315 per person, way behind London and the North East, which comes out top of the table. And before then, 2000 BC, 4000 years ago. It's the beaker folk innit, bloody Beaker folk coming here with their drinking vessels. What's wrong with just cupping up the water with your hands and licking it up like a cat!!
Rail line had to be closed ..one day someone will dream up an idea of running a line from Plymouth - Okehampton- Exeter.
Just so there's no ambiguity what does the term "flicking a fag" mean.? don't want to fall foul of the PC police.
Sounds like a great opportunity for the government to introduce more stealth taxes. Why not just ban smoking, industry, cows farting, cars, and we can all sign up for digitas
I used to read the Victor when I was a kid. Happy days indeed.
All i see from this is a function he attended, where the guest's had to pay £40 a pop for the privelege, and merely banged on about how bad eveything was. No mention of what he and his fellow West counrty m.p's are doing to sort it...just typical for your average and overpaid m.p. in my opinion. Interesting reading;- ...
In an emergency it is not so simple. I know a radiology nurse who was on call for Torbay hospital. She had an urgent call at 3am. She lives in this area. She was caught by the camera going down Teignmouth hill, doing 36. She paid after the NHS wrote mitigating circumstances which failed and before I knew about it. Someones life was at risk, but that didn't matter on future call outs, she kept ...

I wait with interest if they catch the people to see if they're local. Chippy Chaps has also posted CCTV footage of people trying to break into their establishment, wondering if it's related as has Rock and Sole.
Not sure if you're referring to Gay's but despite being on the 'wrong side' of the brook they seem to be one of the shops in Dawlish that does really well. Often there's queues outside for their cream teas, pasties and (I understand) cheesy Steves! They must be doing something right!
@webmaster - thanks. did as you suggested and it seems to have worked. @B/B. did you get my 'testing' message?
I assure you the conversation really happened. And I didn't butt in for the very reason that you state. Although it will be my business as indeed it will be everyone else's if the numbers of EU migrants in the UK fall with a subsequent negative impact on the UK economy. EU migrants contributed around £20bn to the UK's public finances between 2000 and 2011, and paid billions more in taxes than ...
