Is there anything more they can do stop all travel, cancel all sporting events, close all campsites, close the motorway network, no trains busses or planes, close all schools, and confine everyone to there own homes, can you imagine the comments on here if that happened.
@leatash ...well put, but time will tell. Although I will keep an eye on the number of under 50 year olds who get infected outside of China. I think it is going to be a little higher than the odds you suggest.

I've seen @leatash figures before.
They are 'best case scenario' which I think is fair enough.
However, I think we should hope for the best but plan for the worst. So what is the 'worst case scenario'?
Well, the UK Chief Medical Officer has said that in the worst case 80% of the population of the UK will be infected with CORVID-19.
So that's around £53,000,000 people.
Worst case scenario is that 3% of infected people will die. So that's around 1,600,000 fatalities in the UK alone.
So what does that mean for Dawlish? Well, we have a population of around 14,000.
So we could expect the infection of some 11,200. At 3% we could see some 335 fatalities here.
However, we have been told that washing hands with soap and water will help to mitigate this disease. How many of you now have alcohol hand sanitisers next to your sinks where they are not needed? How many have boxes of facemasks which will be next to useless to you? Pack them up and give them to organisations that do need them but can't get them. I'm thinking Care Homes, Schools, Churches, Drop-In Centres etc where running water at the entry point is not an option. If we all do our bit there's no need for this virus to even reach 'best case scenario' levels.
Wait for the virus to start mutating. Currently there are 2 strains doing the rounds. Again the virus has been allowed to get a stronger global foot hold because governments were more interested in their economy than their people.
When will our incompetent government stop flights to and from Italy and other badly infected countries?
We are now bringing back the 100 or so British citizens from the corona infected cruise ship off Calafornia !!!!!!!
Surprising how we haven't heard about our ferry service that operates to bring illegal immigrants from the channel to the UK for the last few weeks.
The biggest joke I have heard is how our NHS will be able to cope, they cannot cope at the slowest of times.
Although a bit of a win win for the government that it seems to kill off retired people and those sick or low immune systems.
This government is a disgrace. Just watch them close Parliament in the next few weeks and scuttle off to their bunkers.

UK government continues to drag their heels and seemingly carry out their 60% infection goal of the uk population. Supposedly using school children as the carriers as they are intent on keeping the schools open until easter holidays.
Interesting how the China infection rate has plateud possibly because they have now immunised the rest of the population through the drinking water system.......just a thought.

HuwMatthews2 .... and I though the CIA killed Kennedy because he tried to pull the troops out of the Vietnam war. Which as everyone knows was making certain firms in the U.S, an absolute fortune supplying the War effort. I also wont mention the fact that an excessive amount of troops sent out there were not of the pale complexion.
