A burglar who failed to do community service work has told a judge that he could not do it because he was too busy working on flood defences in Dawlish.
He received a nine month suspended sentence at Exeter Crown Court last year and was ordered to 125 hours of unpaid work. Another 24 hours was added for previous failures to attend.
