Hope it all goes really well.

OK, this is interesting the Council have admitted that it is their fault so what are you going to about it, you people that call the council on every thread? Here is your chance as far as I see it. There must be a line that you can take. Over to you.
Have to agree with you. It's service with a smile, all year round, except when he closes to go on his cruise. Excellent food and a pleasure to eat in there.
Missed out Bradleys - try them as well.
My words were not defensive they were merely stating fact. Sorry Penny this thread has now been taken off at another angle again.
Olive - DAY are a group of volunteers. You could be one too, I'm sure. They seem to have lots of close links with the council though... P. Lanner makes an interesting comment. Youth of Dawlish - This could see the brakes being put on your youth centre yet again. So the latest deadline would be for 2011, and even then, it would only be 50% youth 50% training centre. Unless of course they change it ...
Despite the rain etc Waking up here in Dawlish is Wonderfull little crime nice people a beautifull coastline what else do we need
Well said.....Wally Protheroe even wanted to have a skate park under Dawlish Leisure Centre. Why? Not for the benefit of us kids....but to ensure it was out of sight and out of mind...and not a nuisance. So much for having an interest in the youth of the town. They don't care at all....unless they can make money out of it. Malcolm Protheroe is the same.....money, money, money. When he did those ...
Good for you Mouse, there's less than 3 years to go until the whole council is up for re-election so you will hopefully have time to find a good babysitter!! Hope all goes well with the baby and you're absolutely right - both your welfare comes first.
WENT IN STOKES THE OTHER DAY. EVERYTHING WAS FOREIGN. THE STRAWBERRIES WERE FROM HOLLAND AND BELGUIM. VINE TOMATOES=SENEGAL GRAPES=INDIA (SURELY THEIR ARE NEARER PLACES) CARROTS=HOLLAND POTATOES=EGYPT I ONLY FOUND ONE BRITISH ITEM AND ONE IRISH. MAYBE A SHOP SELLING MORE LOCALLY GROWN PRODUCE WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. UNTIL STOKES SELL SOME BRITISH PRODUCE , I WONT BE GOING BACK
See they want to build right near houses again. What IS this thing they have about building near homes? Well, would YOU want a supermarket with all the cars and lorries right near you? Thought not. So why should other people? Tell 'em where to stuff it.
What does everyone think of the new surf shop on Brunswick Place called Moose? I only realised it was there a few weeks ago and bought a pair of Reef sandals and Quiksilver sunglasses today. It's great to not have to go to Exeter or Teignmouth. Also, as I spent over fifty quid I got a free Moose t-shirt. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have any Animal, but the guy running it said he would get ...
Hi Phil Dawlish is a great place low crime good schools lots going on in the summer and most people are friendly. Of course you get your moaners and groaners as you do anywhere. The reason folk complain about house prices is that wages round here are out of proportion to housing cost and utility bills are expensive.Dont let that put you off you will gain a good quality of life Lets face it forums ...
Was there eye witnesses to this 'attack' if yes why wasnt the 'yobs' stopped and the police called.
So you commute to Exeter 'Born Here'. What's the problem? Many cities have dormitory towns (which is what Dawlish is to Exeter) from which people commute. If you don't like commuting, why not move to Exeter? What is it exactly that is your gripe about Dawlish?
There is a youth club its along the brook in Barton car park, its not perfect but its good and a lot of kids go there. Seems all kids are judged on an unruly few. Surely kids are a product of our society. How often are parents taken to task oover their kids behaviour, Maybe if parents were threatened with asbos etc they would to a better job of parenting
What type of things are you interested in Newbie.
The only details I have are what was on the postcard which I have put on my first post. We may have to wait until 21st Feb to find out exactly what is planned and where, I will keep you informed if I find anything more out.
Did they mention in the leaflets that the butchers and the veg shop closed due to retirement? No, I bet they didn't! PR people work on both sides of this issue don't they....
I agree with you that a lot of people in Dawlish are not happy unless they are complaining. I mean give the shop a chance they have only just moved in. The drivers will get used to the roads around here just like the drivers in somerfields did. The shop was crap before and was in bad need of the update which has been well planned and they have made much better use out of a very small shop. Let's ...
i would just like to make a complaint about the saturday night operator, not only is he rude to the customers on the phone and in the office he is arrogant to the drivers who work hard getting us home on this cold wet nights. please do something about this before we all go elsewhere .
There are a lot of good points here and a lot of bollox. The grouchy old b'stards will never stop complaining because that's the only thing filling the time in their sad boring lives. If they didn't want noise why would they live opposite the train line?? Hellooo? These people refuse to accept change or anything new which I think is pretty sad. Their lives could be fuller. bollox to em leave em to ...
I wouldnt worry about it lad you and your skateboarding mates are just being used as scapegoats someone to blame. When im out walking my dog i have walked on Lee Mount and i see teenagers drinking back cider, smoking and being abusive. Not a skateboard in sight.
Dawlish is even better in the winter when all the holiday makers have gone home.
Hiya, well having moved here about 4 years ago with my 2 girls I would say that Dawlish is a lovely place to bring up kids and the shops are fine for a small town. I will say that grockle season can be a bit of a nightmsre at times. it's no good if you want to get anywhere fast, on foot or by car. it can be a pain trying to walk down the Strand in a hurry as you normally have many whole families ...
Why do we have such small minded people, who think it is funny to vandalise other peoples property. My wing mirror was broken off while parked in High Street, they smashed the casing and took the mirror, I hope it was of some use to them. CCTV should be on all our streets.
you should check out other places and you will see No 45 is cheaper and better than other places eg Boathouse, smugglers, elizabethan
