@Steve Excuse me, 'should' and 'shouldn't' sounds like dictating. You googled the terms 'global scientific community' thinking it was some over-arching evil organization based on your own deep mistrust and paranoia. 'Humans don't cause weather', is that your final word? Thank flip for that.
Teignbridge Rotten Borough's Posts
@Knighton If a minimum of 1 in 10 of the electorate signed a petition it could be successful. According to the Recall of MPs Act 2015 the recall proceedings cannot be initiated by constituents themsleves in the UK, as the MP has to be found guilty of wrongdoing which fulfils certain criteria - being convicted of a criminal offence after having had all appeals heard. It appears the Speaker and then ...
Members of Teignbridge District Council have had a negative impact on many residents for years. They ignore residents, force decisions upon them with sham consultations and silence and smear opposition voices. As if they give actual f*** about local residents. They're just expected to issue a statement whenever there's a tragic death.
Urgently install a sign prohibiting mobility scooters and warning that doing a U-turn is not advisable or feasible once on the wall. Cycling is already prohibited, unfortunately access for all and inclusivity isn't always possible.
@1263 Thanks, but that's still a bitchy little side swipe to end on. I'd write less and not repeat myself if you were able to comprehend basic English and follow a conversation. But then that comment reflects the grudge you hold and you take everything so personally.
@Steve , yes I agree. The problem is that climate change has been communicated in terms of doomsday scenarios which has the effect of making people fearful, focusing on intrinsic needs and not collective endeavour, causing inertia. That and scientific data on a global scale and a magnitude that is often too abstract for people to comprehend and relate to their everyday lives. Plus if it really was ...
@Paul I think a lot of people who would usually vote Tory did the same as you, and some usual Tory votes who wouldn't vote Refom just stayed at home and didn't vote at all. I don't think the low voter turn-out is solely down to photo ID coming in. The Labour party knows that their victory isn't as convincing as the landslide 412 seats suggests, it's all down to first-past-the-post, with the ...
The only hustings of the general election took place at Teignmouth Community School. It's great that pupils are encouraged to take an interest in politics... But why has there been no hustings for those of us 18 and over, i.e. actual voters? Pretty shocking that the electorate is unable to ask questions and scrutinize candidates. Let's hope these teenagers don't expect to attend hustings once ...
YELLOW AND BLUE : UNITED IN INEPTITUDE CONSERVATIVES used to be about supporting small business, protecting our ancient landscapes and standing up for individual freedoms – yet for the past eight years our MP has done no such thing, with a voting record that’s often eccentric and consistently hostile to the common interest. LIB DEMS should be concerned with increasing transparency, helping ...
At TDC (Teignbridge District Council) - A South Devon Alliance Song From their You Tube channel; https://www.youtube.com/@wolboroughhills515 SDA website; http://southdevonalliance.org/index.html "A satirical parody telling the our story so far, condensed into three musical minutes. South Devon Alliance has come a long way, from a campaign group to a political party standing in the General ...
haha - I don't disagree with quite a bit of what you write. Except I don't see what you call big government and I call neoliberalism being anything to do with socialism. Our politicians are puppets with billionaire media moguls, multinational corporate interest and the establishment, so old boys networks linked to Harrow, Eton Oxbridge unis, the aristocracy and monarchy as well as foreign ...
From the South Devon Alliance website http://southdevonalliance.org/News01.html Written on the 15th February 2023 by Councillor Richard Daws, Leader of the SDA and the official Opposition in TDC since 2023. Including an article from The Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs section. Nothing has changed for the better since. The SDA continue to tackle these issues which Liberal Democrat Dawlish Cllr ...
"however if you think that a potty mouth and so called comedian ? ( assuming his comments were meant to be funny )is up to you but you certainly have lost my vote" Think what? That didn't make sense . I don't know if the swearing will win disaffected, disenfranchised voters who rightly might refer to politics as an 'effing joke' (and swear themselves) or put others off. Some would say it's a ...
People in Newton Abbot are justifiably angry about the unwanted, unpopular changes the Lib Dem run District Council under Wrigley's Leadership and their Tory allies in Devon County Council are forcing onto Queen St. Unsurprisingly finding Lib Dem election leaflets through their doors from Westminster hopeful Wrigley himself telling them he's the 'People's Champion' and 'working hard for Newton ...
Information below is from the SDA website; http://southdevonalliance.org/News20.html Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/Liam4college/ #3 End Corruption The idea that corruption only happens in other countries was truly buried under the Covid PPE contract scandals. But while the rot at the top of the tree gets headlines, the rot here at the root doesn't. Since we were elected (to TDC in ...
@1263 Totally agree, I'd rather have Liam Mullone from the SDA representing us in parliament as he has integrity, he stands up for the people and has a track record of tackling corruption even when subject to threats and abuse and Teignbridge District Council's Kangaroo courts. Whatever the outcome of this election the SDA will have greater exposure to more voters in the District, then it moves ...
@1263 Many parties could just share the same flyer, they say much the same thing and deliver absolutely bugger all. But at least it'd further reduce paper use. Top idea!
@1263 haha no chance, it'd be a waste of money in any case.
This is very relevant for the Dawlish area, take a look what do you think? SDA represent an alternative to the Lib Dem-Tory norm that just isn't working/ #2 Stop Over-Development From the SDA Website http://southdevonalliance.org/News20.html Westminster's National Planning Policy Framework uses an equation to work out how many houses we need. It takes no account of our protected coast or ...
The South Devon Alliance have some pretty eye catching signs and banners. If you'd like to show your support and display one the contact email is below. I like the autism one!
It seems our Constituency is neither a Lib Dem nor a Labour target seat, if we're splitting hairs. Vote for whichever party you want, unbound by people telling you who to 'tactically' vote for - people who don't actually give a damn about lack of democratic process and corruption. They don't know better than you, they're not your 'betters'. Be curious. Do your own research. Make up your own ...
One of the biggest pieces of misinformation that many people assume or are led to believe is that our Constituency is in a Lib Dem target/priority. That's certainly what Lib Dem candidate Wrigley is telling everyone. He is also telling everyone that our Constuency is not a key battleground for Labour. this may have been the case months ago, but it now seems the Labour party stance has changed ...
From The South Devon Alliance You Tube Channel; https://www.youtube.com/@wolboroughhills515 Liam Mullone General Election film on Newton Abbot, Teignbridge's largest town, a former thriving market town. The South Devon Alliance General Election candidate for Newton Abbot outlines how the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives have CON-DEM'd the town of Newton Abbot. Vote for Liam Mullone, South ...
@1263 The Lib Dems here use the same tactics too, and have been doing for years. Here's an example from Wrigley's recent propagandist BS; This is a complete misrepresentation as there is no mention of the official opposition in Teignbridge, The South Devon Alliance. They came second behind the Lib Dems and ahead of the Tories. This graph shows how the Lib Dems will do/say/publish whatever it ...
A pro-European political party, a branch of Volt Europa - a Europe wide political movement. https://www.instagram.com/voltukofficial/p/C8XeYElo7Vl/ Whatever you think about Brexit and returning to the EU it is good to see another young adult (along with Labour's Jacob Cousens) entering the political arena. This party genuinely seems committed to getting rid of the first past the post ...
" Martin Wrigley, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate said: ‘This adds insult to injury, whilst shareholders get an inflation busting dividend , local people have to put up with the River Teign and Teignmouth’s beaches suffering from disgusting sewage dumping’" https://www.middevonadvertiser.co.uk/news/south-west-water-slammed-by-councillors-653896 From Teignbridge District Council ...
yet another poll predicting a Labour win. For evey poll Wrigley and his Lib Dem fan club produce there are plenty more predicting a Labour win or Tory hold. None include the South Devon Alliance. They do put 'Other' referring to all parties at around 1%. https://www.survation.com/mrp-update-first-mrp-since-farages-return/ If the turnout is around 72% that's is 54000 plus voters. 1% would ...
From The South Devon Alliance You Tube Channel; https://www.youtube.com/@wolboroughhills515 The YouTube version of the first Election Broadcast from Liam Mullone SDA make me your MP for anyone minded to share the message more widely. The South Devon Alliance candidate for Newton Abbot constituency in the General Election. Given Labour have it in the bag nationally, consider voting for Devon. ...
@Carer The South Devon Alliance is unsurprisingly based and run from S. Devon, based in Newton Abbot. Liam Mullone if elected as MP would represent us in Westminster. He'll make his voice heard alright if elected or not and he has been doing for 5 years in the District Council and has been a thorn in the side of Wrigley and the illiberal. undemocratic Lib Dems and their Tory allies. No doubt ...
@Lynne If you think its a waste of time then you have a choice. I know the opposite to be true (for reasons given above) and I make my choices.
Yesterday (Thursday 13th) Lib Dem Westminster Wannabe Wrigley posted this on his facebook page; Clicking on the link actually shows the reverse with Labour ahead of the Lib Dems as the predicted main challenger via the very polls he has used, as this is a screenshot here is the link; https://www.electionpolling.co.uk/tactical-voting/keep-out/conservative Clicking on 'Newton Abbot' - our ...
Liam Mullone You candidate for MP - Newton Abbot Constituancy Nothing will change if you vote for a politician - So DON'T I’m Liam Mullone. I’m a neuro-divergent married dad of three and I’ve been a gravedigger, a bin man, a journalist on the Times newspaper, a motor trader and a stand-up comedian. In 2018 I founded Newton Says No to fight overdevelopment, and later this became the South ...
Toxic waste, Take Caution. Best contact Waste and Recycling at the District Council. Oh hang on a sec, this Il-Lib Anti-Dem 'runs' the District Council (very badly!) as Leader.
Given the obesity pandemic more people will likely come to depend on mobility scooters as their health deteriorates and the crisis worsens.
On Wednesday evening Dawlish Town Council will co-opt one of three candidates to fill the vacant Councillor position in the Dawlish SW ward; Patrick Hackett, Scott Williams and Gary Taylor. See page 8 onwards in the agenda if you're actually interested. https://www.dawlish.gov.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/77/2024/05/2024-06-05-Full-Town-Council-Meeting-Book-1.pdf Lib dem Gary Taylor was not ...
It's not illegal but it shows what an absolute lying low life Wrigley is (see below). Anything to become MP on July 4th. It also shows how stupid he is by using these graphs. You only have to look at the local election results last year or Councillor profiles on the Teignbridge District Council website to see that the South Devon Alliance came second, yet Wrigley conveniently omits the official ...
@Daverc You're welcome. The list might change before the 7th June, which is the deadline for candidate registration I think. There has been a lot of lies and misinformation about Labour not standing put out by Wrigley and the Lib Dems. Most recently Wrigley has claimed Jacob Cousens will be studying in Durham and by implication wouldn't have much presence here/or be effective as a MP. Whereas ...
Please read how Buckfastleigh town council go about their business. If only Dawlish Town Council and Teignbridge District Council weren't Lib Dem Dictatorships and were truly inclusive and representative of the people. if only they followed this example. Instead we get Wrigley's 'Community Powered Council' guff and a Rotten Borough. The public's comments in Dawlish aren't even included in ...
https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/politically-charged-council-meeting-leads-9311118 One person said: "This isn't democracy but just a dressed up form of dictatorship. This is the first staged walkout in the history of Teignbridge District Council. It's a disgrace that it has to come to this. It has all occurred under a Liberal Democrat majority and under the leadership of Dawlish ...
The report in the mid Devon Advertiser is incorrect. Wrigley's Lib Dem run TDC were charging around £1800 not the £1000 as reported. I went into the Cancer Screening Unit today at Sainsbury's carpark and asked. The NHS worker also explained that is for a 10 week period, which is pretty extortionate.
