General Discussion

One of the biggest pieces of misinformation that many people assume or are led to believe is that our Constituency is in a Lib Dem target/priority.

That's certainly what Lib Dem candidate Wrigley is telling everyone.

He is also telling everyone that our Constuency is not a key battleground for Labour. this may have been the case months ago, but it now seems the Labour party stance has changed on this since Farage announced he would stand and regained the leadership of Reform UK. Labour obviously see an opportunity here, given Reform Uk will take many votes off the Tories.

Wrigley surely knows Labour are a threat as well as the South Devon Alliance which he and his party are in denial about, (they cannot even acknowledge this) and he knows that Reform Uk will have an impact.

It appears that Lib Dem targets seats are those where a less than 15% swing in their favour would need to occur. That excludes this Constituency.

Our Constituency (Newton Abbot) is not on this list of Lib Dem targets or any other list it seems;

Our seat is not included in  the Lib Dems 'Operation 1997'. It is not one of their priorities.

If anyone can find any evidence to the contrary then by all means share it.

Although this seat is of course a priority for Lib Dem Wrigley it is not a target for the National Liberal Democrat party.

There is a difference.

Yesterday Ed Davey Lib Dem Leader  was down here in S. Devon - and who did he visit? Lib Dem candidate Voaden down in the S. Hams at Broadsands where they made sandcastles! (pathetic), but her constituency, Devon South requires a 12.66% swing - it is on the list of Lib dem targets.

Notably Davey did not stop to visit Wrigley, even though it was on route. Davey also knows about all the toxicity surrounding Wrigley and the Lib Dems in local government, so he was wise to keep clear and not associate, especially given Lib Dem Cllr Gary Taylor's assault of an opposition Cllr and how Ed Davey failed to expel him from the party. He wouldn't want that controversy adding to all the Post Office Horizon scandal stuff. He has enough on his plate and he would rather go paddleboarding and build sandcastles in any case. Great Leadership Ed!

So why would you believe Wrigley or anyone else who tell you that this is a Lib Dem target seat and a priority?

It is a Wrigley priority because he dreams of becoming our MP, that's all. But he has demonstrated time and time again that he is incompatible with public service, so isn't it all self-serving and ego-driven rather than what's best for the electorate?

This seat is no more or less of a priority for any of the candidates it seems, so don't believe the lies about only the Lib Dems 'Can Win Here' or this or that party 'Can't win Here'. It's just spin, without any real substance.

The Tory Morris and Lib Dem Wrigley also preach from a position of deficit given they as MP and Councillor/ Council Leader respectively have failed to listen to and represent the public over a number of years now.
