It isn't rate payers money! It is money that has come from developers. Part of the planning agreement for Sainsbury's to be built was that it should give an amount of money (£200,000 I think it was) for use in the town centre. Actually if the world warms up then our climate could well become colder. Why? Because if the Gulf Stream is disrupted (and it is the warmth of the Gulf Stream that keeps our climate as temperate as it is) then we will have a much colder climate in this country.

Apparently a spokesperson at Network Rail said they will never agree to put benches on the sea wall due to health and safety reasons. When I asked in a meeting a couple of years ago what the reasons were I was told that people could stand on the benches to get onto the line! I did point out the that the low wall all the way to DW provided much easier access to the line!

Let's hope for a nice dry day for their parade which sets off at 2:45pm. Show your support for our brave boys and girls who done their bit. Well done Dawlish RBL for organising this. Keep it up.
