Is it any wonder people are disillusioned with our corrupt system. The voter turnout figures speak for themselves. Local elections barely scrape above 30%, and general elections are now less than 70%. Coincidentally, the biggest drops in turnout have occurred since Blair won his first term in office; he fuelled this disillusionment.
A father has told of his anger and disgust at learning that his 14-year-old daughter had been allegedly sexually abused by men in a seaside flat when he thought she was sleeping at a friend's house. His daughter lied about having a sleepover with a schoolfriend and instead the two girls went to stay with the older sister of another 14-year-old in Dawlish. Read more... ...

This is what would happen to the new proposed play park.

It is all a pointless game, we have forgotten how to look after our countryside and will allow a house or two....hundred anywhere.

Just had a reply back from Torbay Borough Council and they are deeper in pooh than DCC. The cost to the council and ultimately to the tax payer will be in excess of £200,000. And people vote in those that are supposed to be looking after our affairs. Yeah- alright then. So are councillors fit for purpose and more importantly the officers that they employ to carry out the functions they are given?

Have been told that the powers that be are aware that more dog poo bins are needed and that getting more of them installed at the park is underway.
Low pay/not having enough money to pay bills etc is indeed a subject to be taken seriously.* But bear with me if now I sound frivolous on the subject. So........... all these low income families in Dawlish are going to spend their spare income (what spare income?!!!?? ) in the shops in the centre of town when they come into town in order to take their under 8 year olds to the proposed playpark. ...
Phew.!!!!..................I thought it said refugees at first...

Perhaps someone could write to network rail on a personal level, and ask NR why they do not like the idea of putting seating along the sea wall at various locations.
It was certainly imaginative.
I totally agree with 1263. I only half agree with majorp.
Low life like that deserve more than that.

What is it with the need for everyone to be swearing all over this site @webmaster - I really think the beach needs to be concentrated on and I'm sure somehow more could be made of the railway attraction it brings.
I thought it was still open. When did it close? Ah! Just remembered - I think it is now called the Funky Frog or something similar. Click here for more info http://www.funkyfrogsplaypad.co.uk/ (Does T'mouth have anything along the same lines? )
I don't know, but it may have something to do with LA's cutting costs and therefore cutting out some of the services provided by the community service buses. Awhile ago DCC cut the services of some rural buses and I belive there is more to come. This committee may be tasked with providing a soloution to any further potential cuts and deciding whether it is value for money to keep all or allow some ...
I think that most people who are agaisnt the playpark, myself included in those agaisnt, are not wholeheartdely agaisnt having one, they are more agaisnt where it is proposed to go, the down effect it will have and the accuracy of the information we have all been provided with in the first place. It will no way near be a match to that of Teignmouth. I don't believe that the number of those Dawlish ...

Interesting.
Well he certainly got the point.
As most of the parents will have cars, I honestly cant see many of them using the town. My money is on most of them using Sainsburys and/or Exeter. There has been a dramatic increase in new housing but has there been additional parking (in town) to help with this influx? No.
