After all the problems We have been involved wars ,austerity, bank crashes, brexit, elections to win elections to lose etc,etc My opinion is the quality of parliamentarians, especially those that have somehow attained higher office over the last 40 odd  years have been sadly a bunch of under achievers. @leatash , so you wouldv'e seen it in the early days, we had the 40th anniversay in 2014. i was up there last month, yes it could look better, the shabby comment is made often by folk. the visitor/tourist side needs investment, recently more money has gone into the graduate school for the environment (gse) at the top end, you might have e used the cafe there and seen the rammed earth lecture ...

@Lynne - i had politely advised the couple that cycling was not allowed on the sea wall. the bloke replied 'i didn't know that' and just cycled passed. Actually there is another cyclist on another picture who barged his way passed a large group of people as well. It would seem the 'No cycle' signs have been slowly disappearing form the barriers on the sea wall. You can have as many regulations ...

I go to Newton Abbot Asda sometimes as you get a lot more for your money, as long as you stay away from the named brands. Everytime I go I think wow, can't belive it's so cheap. Well worth going there once a month to get long life products such as canned fish, beans, meat, long life milk etc. Definitely a good saving.

And again if i remember correctly is the recent rise in council tax being ring fenced for social care?

Citizens advice at the Manor House in conjunction with Dawlish assist has a food bank. Not a big one but people are assessed and if it is deemed they are in need they get free food.
