Cllr. Petherick has been the only one who has ever showed any interest in the issues raised by these planning applications. The other members of the planning committee have been useless.

Unfortunately, these companies have endless money to spend on appeals.while councils have only taxpayers' money. Something is very wrong with the system.
re. Land off Meadow Park - Town Council's objections included access via Badlake Hill. It's worth noting that 5 of the houses at the bottom of Badlake Hill have just spent 10 days without broadband since their cables have been brought down by a passing lorry.
Where are you? (Just give a general idea of location)
Disgusting person. Should have got a longer sentence.
@DEEDOODLE : The Dawlish Warren variant, presumably
This echoes the complaints on Facebook over the past week from local people about mask-less shoppers being let into Sainsbury's in groups and not being challenged about their behaviour by staff or security. I stopped going to Sainsbury's earlier in the year because of concerns like this.
Can’t get on to ‘Devon Live’ website since yesterday for any further information.
All these tall, narrow houses with lots of stairs - a good bet might be to get shares in stairlifts for people in about 20 years' time.
They don’t clear up after their dogs because they know they can get away with it. They are not responsible pet owners and shouldn’t have a dog in the first place because they put everyone else at risk with their disgusting behaviour.
Is it not possible to reinstate the gabions? Why were they legally required to remove them when they had worked in the past? It doesn’t seem to make sense.
Just try navigating the Teignbridge website in order to pay the £40 fee for the green bin - it’s a complete nightmare. What idiot thought that one up.
They should have been banned for life from keeping any pets as they are clearly not capable of looking after them properly.
Comes under property misdescription to describe something as having a bank nearby if there isn't one.
@Epicurus I’m in the same area & our electricity used to come via overhead cables & was fairly reliable but about 5 years ago we were transferred on the grounds of “safety” to an underground cable which was fed by the sub-station located on the new-ish estate of houses at Upper Longlands. Since then, we seem to have had power cut after power cut & have often suffered the annoyance of our ...
Great pictures of one of my favourite places. Love the porky squirrel!
Must have come through the back roads as it didn’t come up Badlake Hill. Was removed by low loader pretty promptly at about 8.30pm.
How do you cross the railway line to get to the beach? I understood that all that land belonged to Network Rail and they have strict regulations about building work, access, etc.
@leatash I saw all the feathers along the pavement and wondered what had happened.
The licensing committee are part of Teignbridge Council and you can contact them at Forde House, Newton Abbot. It's best to put any formal complaint in writing and keep a record of dates and times. Send a copy to the police at the addresses previously mentioned.
No, Brooklyn Bridge, it's not just you. I for one would much rather have the reassurance of seeing a police car parked in plain sight and this would probably act as a deterrent, to a certain extent. Of course, this also requires them to implement the law, something they seem curiously reluctant to do.
Good to see them back again. Perhaps we will now get some summer!
Saw it on Friday night - hilarious! Brilliant cast and they only rehearsed it for 5 weeks. Much more entertaining than anything on tv.
Well, Lynne, at least you were spared the sight that greeted me early one morning some years ago when I heard a noise outside the kitchen window: Mr. Brock was outside making a feast of a poor old hedgehog and soon all that was left was a prickly skin. Just glad that the children weren't around to witness it. Having said that, it was only nature taking its course and there aren't so many ...
I don't think there would be so much of a problem if one of the original conditions of development had been the provision of a new road into the estate, possibly from the Exeter Road side.
Think they are mainly brown trout, although the fishermen among us can probably enlighten us further. Have also seen quite large eels in the Brook but not so many in recent years.
She's been coming to the Manor for surgeries for several years. Do you mean that she didn't know where she was?
Thank you, Michael. I'm sure this will be of help to anyone in this situation. I'm just astounded to think that someone at the council didn't have the wit to relax the red tape just for a bit in what is surely a one-off emergency.
Good luck to them. Hope they do well.
Whatever it is, it's affected the website as well.
Thank you Don for this information. Perhaps something will now be done for this unfortunate family. It gives Dawlish a bad name when things like this go on and nothing is done about it.
It does look very nice & is doing the job it's supposed to. Wood is usually treated nowadays before it's sold so I'm assuming this is the case here. At least they got on with repairing it unlike Stonelands Bridge which is still missing a parapet on one side.
Can't believe it. How can this be justified by TDC?
Thank you Lynne for this useful posting.
(a) Bankers - only they don't wait for any special offers & (b) politicians - who charge it to the general public anyway. I'm sure there'll be other suggestions.
A dog that can do this should be confiscated as it is obviously out of control and is a danger to people as well as wildfowl. The owner of the dog as well as not having any brain cells is not in possession of £5,000 and so a fine is a pointless exercise. Best to raise a reward in the hope that his/her mates grass him/her up as the dog would have blood on it and someone will have a good idea whose ...
I presume this should have read Barton Hill. Have not seen any other reports about it so have no idea what she was up to unless she was looking for an outfit for the Christmas party.
On a practical note, the trees act as a wind break and also soak up a great deal of water from the Lawn.
