@Brooklyn Bridge , sorry for not getting back sooner. If you or anyone else ever needs to email me then my email is webmaster@dawlish.com

Thanks @Calamari . The server it was on was getting old and is being retired in January, and quite a lot of things were broke on the site like youtube videos and capital letters! These are now fixed. Also it works a bit better on mobile and smaller devices. I didn't want to change it too much in one go though.
I think it is mainly aimed at creative content, such as music, rather than informational content, so hopefully it won't affect this site. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-45495550 "The final version clarifies that this will not include the sharing of hyperlinks to content such as news stories."
@HuwMathews2, I too am not sure either. Diana Mond was the first and then others joined in so it looks. But please everyone, stop the personal attacks. If someone is trolling or being abusive, report it or contact me by email (faster) which is also now here - http://www.dawlish.com/user/details/20
In order to stop the bickering, anyone posting personal attacks from now will have their account suspended, so please let's stop it.
Thread closed due to too many personal attacks. Please start a new thread to discuss any of the issues raised here.
Hi, it's now fixed. You may need to press CTRL-F5 to reload the change.

Hi @Db7949 , should your website address be www.valeofhaldon.org.uk ?

Apologies for the outage today between 11am and 4pm. It was due to a fibre network breakage apparantly, which took out a lot of the network.
@maz345 , that rouge advert has come up on other sites including Facebook so it is not just this website that the computer illiterate need to be wary of. They need to be wary of the www in genereal. The Google Adsense network is huge, as is Facebook's, which is how these companies are able to track and target you with adverts from site to site. Also, anyone can create an advert. Turning off ads on ...
@Diana Mond , are you sure it's not because you are deliberately winding these users up? However, just to remind everyone that we have a no-name calling policy, so please stick to that, and also please be respectful to other users.
@Diana Mond , no worries. I usually change the user from me to the original user when I create the new thread so that they get the notifications and not me. I have to do it manually, so I may be doing it slightly differently each time.

I'm not sure what has happened to @Pete 's account, but I've censored the language and suspended the account.

@TheObserver , I'm preventing bickering, not joining in on it. Flaming other members with the apparent intent of inciting or perpetuating a conflict or argument is against the terms. It always has been.
@majorp , yes, please feel free to continue posting on the subject.

@burneside , thankyou for editing your post. @From The Grave , I also said. "if someone genuinely unintentionally gets it wrong because it is not yet clear, I'll give them the opportunity to edit their posts." And "just because someone may have broken the terms, it doesn’t mean the terms no longer apply" https://www.dawlish.com/thread/details/45594 @From The Grave , also, I'm growing weary of your ...
@Stark Ross , there is no back-pedalling going on here at all. The Open Daw have now corrected the information on their website.
OK @Strong and Stable , I've closed your account. @elvis presley , most of the time it is worth it. things usually go pear shaped around voting time or when the discussion is about politics.
@north devonian , you have to set the hyperlink yourself using the link button. When you paste hypertext from another source, it sometimes detects it but not always.
@Andrew , you can choose not to talk to huw if you want to, but huw has every right to comment on anything you post as does anyone else.
@TheObserver , no I don't have an issue with you. I'll just stick to moderating and you can all let me know if I overstep the mark.
@Carer , it's because the thread is not posted on the general discussion but on a group that requires membership. you need to join the group to post - https://dawlish.com/group/details/14841 It is a feature of the site software that is hardly ever used.
To end the slanging matches on this thread I think it is best for me to close it. Please start a new thread if you want to get back onto the original topic.

Can we now stop the squabbling please? We have had a very heated referendum debate on this site which, as flo and Lynne have both pointed out, has turned nasty at times. The vote is now over and we must all accept and respect the choice others have made whether we agree or not and whether we like it or not. That is democracy. So lets try to keep it light, stay calm as Gary says and look forward to ...
