A lot of the language is "died with Covid-19" not of. It is really difficult to get an accurate figure so they are using all cases where the patient had Covid-19 present. It is always difficult to work out who would have have died with or without Covid-19 present in their body. Better analysis will come but we are still gathering the data. We are only 6 months in of world wide cases and less ...

It's a poor bunch of candidates which is why May lasted so long! Rory Stewart seems the best of them but he has no chance.
I'm still waiting to find an MP who truly does. Until we get a country that has a well-balanced mix of socialism and capitalism and whilst we allow politicians to have interests in companies that will benefit directly from legislation then we are far from where we should be. We have millionaires who fail at business and cause thousands of job losses but walk away still a millionaire whilst feeling ...
It'll be good if those standing outside when the weather is good actually moved out the way when people are trying to walk past.
@majorp reminds me of ... "It doesn't matter who you vote for, the Government still get in"
Corbyn is just stating that she has the right to legal aid, which she does if the legal aid agency decides she has the right. I believe she does, that doesn't mean I think we were wrong to not allow her back into Britain. We should support this whatever you think as we need to have a fair system for everyone.
If we had sent MEPs that actually went in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess
Any religious callers get the short answer "I'm an atheist", that usually gets them moving. Only had one say "have you read the bible?" to which I said "Yes that's why I'm an atheist" :-D Thanks for the heads up on the jewellery @Paul
" problems we have with people who want to be something they are not" which people are these?
That is being used now due to roadworks in Kenton in the evening. Do many people use it? Maybe locals in the summer but is it that big of a problem? How will it be policed (suspect it won't)?
There never has been anything for teenagers to do and if there is something it costs too much. Teenagers hang around, its what they do, I did. If they are causing problems then that is a different issue but if they are just sitting around, chatting and laughing what is the problem? Most parents are happy their kids are in their rooms playing on games as they know where there are then.
@DEEDOODLE they said that maybe the case on the local news this morning :-(
@DEEDOODLE I would put all Abrahamic religions in the same box as they have similar roots to their beliefs
Maybe we should try harder to make it the case? Comments like " It always seems to be by the same few." don't help. When someone throws insults around don't throw them back etc.
I agree. As we still don't know the long-term effects of vaping we shouldn't be providing it. People should get support to stop but replacing one addiction thing with another even if currently appears "healthier" is not a solution.
I will happily debate/discuss any subject with anyone but there is no need for insults about the subject of the discussion (if a person or persons) or the person you are discussing with. The people on here have differing opinions and that is a good thing as it should allow for a good discussion but once insults start flying around the discussion quickly goes off the subject. There really is no ...
The alternative was Le Pen so it is 'vive la France'
Do you really think Putin would think twice? We have one way to launch a nuclear attack whereas other countries have 2 or 3. He isn't scared of us.
Most the doctors aren't there half the time. It would be nice to see the same doctor every time you went. Instead, you get whoever is next available. You can, of course, make an appointment with a particular doctor in advance but the good ones are usually fully booked for weeks. There are two doctors I request another doctor when given an appointment with them.
Introducing a bill is the next step up from thinking about it :-)
The Tory governement aren't going to support the same areas as the EU. There was a reason why these areas got their funding from the EU in the first place!
Say we have 20 million households to give this million to that would cost 20,000,000 x 1,000,000 = 20,000,000,000,000. That is 20000 billion! The majority of the country would have no incentive to work if they had a million pounds in the bank also suddenly the cost of things would go up etc. It is a crazy idea :-)
People keep going on about Corbyn being unelectable but I don't see any Tory MP who I think could lead the country and lead us through these difficult times. I am sure not any will have those who voted to leave's best interests at heart when negotiating our departure from the EU. Unless someone comes through suddenly I don't see Johnson, Osbourne or May as that person. There is already ...
It won't make a difference they said, we will be better off they said, we will prosper they said, businesses won't leave they said, we won't f*** you over they said ... sorry, they didn't say that last one!
@burneside I agree the Leave side should not be tarred with the UKIP brush. however, UKIP, in general, are a bunch of idiots!
But it is a fallacy to believe one would lead to the other. Plus the next person would say the money spent subsidising carer's going swimming would be better spent on X.
My brother is travelling to New York today and he just read this on the way to the airport. His wife has an old passport so fingers crossed they let her in :-)
Yes, seems a lot of resources on this that could have been directed somewhere more worthwhile
Anyone that attacks innocent people are cowards. The Paris attacks were terrible, I was in Paris in the summer with my family. Should we stop helping the vast majority of innocent people because of these idiots? Where do these people go if no one accepts them? That is exactly what ISIS want. They want for the "west" to appear unfriendly and against Islam, that helps their recruitment no end. ...
I didn't say it would ever happen, he just made a comment at a rally. That is different than saying he wants to get rid of the British Army but not as dramatic though!
It would be unlikely that AI would develop spirituality. AI would be built on logic and reason and would base everything on the evidence and environment around them. Something that being religious doesn't lend itself to. If they did form a kind of religion (again unlikely) then surely it would be to worship its creator?
" Cant see the store would affect Dawlish ..as Waitrose prices would not suit their pocket." What are you trying to say about Dawlish people? Not everyone in Dawlish are living on benefits!
I know this is something minor but this disappoints me so much about Dawlish. My 8 year old son carved a pumpkin on Sunday. We lit candles in the pumpkin and put the pumpkin outside our front door last night to go with the window display both my sons had worked hard on. We had a couple of kids knock the door in about half and hour and then no more. I thought I would check if the candles in the ...
Hello, After a successful recommendation for a builder on here (thanks Lynne) anyone recommend a plumber? I have a really annoying squeaking toilet Thanks, Scott.
Thanks very good recommendation :-) I have spoken to John and as you said he is very busy but he is still coming around to give me some advice.
