To put my post above into context @Barbarawils68 , for an appeal at Gatehouse to stand a better chance of approval (and for that matter at Hill Drive) fresh proposals for the deferred NW Secmaton Lane (DA2) Development Framework will need to come forward containing acceptable access arrangements and a revised link road delivery schedule. We have already heard Humphrey Clemens (Teignbridge ...

Congratulations to the antisocial half-wit who dumped two plastic bin bags of rubble in the road on the corner of Weech Close, one of which had burst and was spilling into the road. Who says that recycling centre charges don't encourage fly-tipping and how much am I paying for it??!!

Just observed 2/3 fire engines/tenders go down to Upper Longlands and white plumes of smoke coming from along the houses. May just be a bbq went out of control or a tumble dryer. Smoke has subsided, but another fire engine has just turned up with sirens going.
More info from the postcard: Bovis are offering a trade in on my current home as part payment for one of their new ones. They will offer me 100% market value on my present abode and sort out all the removals. They will consider properties anywhere in England and Wales (so not just me then ). But........this home exchange scheme includes various caveats (but of course!) including that the ...
A family say they finally have closure after a jury ruled a faulty cherry picker was to blame for an Exeter dad's death. The inquest into the death of Kenneth "Kenny" Leach, a painter and decorator from Exeter, was formally closed this morning after the jury returned a narrative verdict. The 49-year-old died at Derriford Hospital on December 14, 2014 - a day after he was crushed by a cherry ...
A plumber has admitted defrauding customers who were not given the chance to get lower quotes from rivals for work on their bathrooms and boilers. Michael Hall quoted one price to clients but charged them a higher rate for his work and failed to provide the proper documentation to six clients in Dawlish, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot areas. He admitted six counts of fraud when he appeared at ...
They truly are that idiotic. Huge queues towards Exeter this morning and huge queues from Exeter this evening. It's been like this all week. No-one seems to have any sense when it comes to simple things like this.
The place was full last night for what was presumably the artists preview evening. Like Flo, I'm also a fan of Laura's work and am proud to own some of her work. I saw her yesterday and her latest piece looking down from Eastcliff is going to be brilliant! The detail is ridiculous. She says that she's looking forward to doing even more local commissions this year - including one in Dawlish, ...

This thread is running on Eyes of Dawlish. Thought I'd place it on here. Dawn Marsden to Eyes of Dawlish 1 hr · Accident Waiting to Happen !!!!!! Sorry I don't usually post (and hope this okay) but today I feel the need to rant ! As a parent of children at Gatehouse school I am growing more and more concerned around our childrens safety. Once again this morning and ...
Thanks Merlin, that's good news anyway.
Saw it on Friday night - hilarious! Brilliant cast and they only rehearsed it for 5 weeks. Much more entertaining than anything on tv.

People may be more inclined to call the police if it wasn't for a non emergency line that is not fit for purpose. To top it off they charge you for sitting on your phone for 25+ mins. Last time I called 101 about a disturbance I had to phone three times and each time was over 10 minutes with no answer. As the situation had got worse I felt I needed to phone 999 as their was an escalating ...

@Lynne - from appendix b. you have a total of 86 dwellings titled 'sample of properties sold since jan 2014'. i note a total of 86 dwellings with the most expensive being £351,950 and the cheapest at £77k. on breakdown you have 28 under £200k and of that only 2 under £150. for new developments praised for resolving the local peoples housing problem, i think not. I don't belive the majority of ...
I think it is 75 not 73 based on teignbridge planning website. They show 73 on the left of the junction and 75 on the right as you face sandy lane. Also it looks as though the garage has been converted to a living area. I believe you require change of use for that and I cannot see an application for that, for 75. I think you would need to submit a retrospective application if you bought the ...

@roberta -your post 08 april 2016 15:36 - it's not your place to decide, for others, when to stop discussing, debating, communicating about any thread on this site. if people wish to continue airing their thoughts, that is their right. why should we 'bury this thread' a significant amount of local money has been wasted at a time when the council is shouting poverty and running down essential ...
