The cyclist art has now been vandalised again! The previous damage to his head was caught on cctv carried out by a couple of dickheads. Although the police have good descriptions I am yet to see a description of these mindless twits or even a few stills from the cctv in the local papers. It would have helped if the locals had been informed and could have kept a lookout.

If I remember correctly any council must observe the hedgerows regulation act from 1997, which means they have to leave cutting/removing of hedgerows and trees from the 1st of March until the 31st of August, this is for the protection of nesting birds and wildlife. There is i'm sure certain times when public health and saftey could over ride this but that would require a council meeting to get ...

I have just seen on BBC news that Lloyds are to close 200 branches despite a half year profit of £2.5bn. Fingers crossed that Dawlish branch is not on the list.

Most the doctors aren't there half the time. It would be nice to see the same doctor every time you went. Instead, you get whoever is next available. You can, of course, make an appointment with a particular doctor in advance but the good ones are usually fully booked for weeks. There are two doctors I request another doctor when given an appointment with them.

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident in Dawlish on Saturday 16th July. One man, aged 24 and from Dawlish was treated at the scene for a serious arm injury. This is really sad news. I saw this show up at the Warren car boot sale field a few years back and it was great entertainment. I guess a daredevil show brings with it a massive amount of risk, but this sounds like a dreadful tragedy and you wonder if it could have been avoided.

Glad that the fields at Sandy Lane were not destroyed by this short sighted parking excercise, nice to see the greed of those involved thwarted the use of it by those visiting the event. Powderham had plenty of space, it was an event at their site and they have open their fileds to parking for previous events. It seems more madness than common sense and judgement run the local councils round here. ...

And did you know that the Big Weekend has cost us another £50,000 on top of the £100,000 already wasted because not enough people used the park and ride.?

SHOPKEEPERS across Devon have been warned after a gang of Romanian men made several attempts to confuse cashiers out of large amounts of money. The scam is known as ringing the changes and involves swapping notes mid-way through payment or trying to buy a low-value item with large notes and then confusing the cashier to get more back than was originally given. @Lynne , a few years ago we tried to return various items of rehab equipment my mum needed following a few falls due to postural hypertension. we tried barton surgery, dawlish hospital and torbay nhs trust. eventually we were told that it is not cost effective to collect these items and to give them to a charity shop! which we did. so...........not only do we have a throw away society, we also ...
