Don't forget all of the Sheltered Housing Schemes who have had their Warden funding removed! This policy is just not 'joined up' - Give it 2 years tops and the DCC housing for older people policy will be in absolute turmoil! There is no doubt that some older people will suffer and even die from this. DCC should be ashamed of themselves!

Salmond has damaged the Union beyond repair with his rhetoric. Only yesterday he compared Westminster (and by association - the English) to apartheid South Africa. The anti-English bile of the 'Yes'ists is plain to see daily on TV. The Scots may as well vote 'Yes' as it's obvious that the Union is dead north of the border anyway.

How about removing the existing bandstand (and basketball hoop!), landscaping the area but leave a tarmac area with removable seating. Then purchase a portable stage and inflatable cover (google search 'Inflatable Stage' for details) which could be used by any group, at any location in the parish (including the tarmac area on the lawn), for pretty much any event as needed. Devon County Council Staff (and no it wasn't Central Govt) decided to cut some of my staffs' wages by 75% (yes...really) and then have the audacity to strike over a 1% pay rise! Get real muppets....we're all suffering for the benefit of the UK thanks to outside agencies!
If you're getting signal from Stockland Hill you'll have loads of channels - if you get it from the relay at the top of Badlake you'll only have around 20. I hasten to add that you'll still be paying the same amount for your licence though!!!! Good innit!!!!!!!
1920s Postcard depicting "Red Rock and Boating Cove"
Lived in Dawlish all my life (and 2 generations before me). Red Rock is at Boat Cove (see Gazette 'Then and Now' pic from a few weeks ago for historical naming). It does seem to have become blurred since the 60s/70s - perhaps we should resolve it once and for all so that local history/geography doesn't become distorted for future generations of Dawlishians!
