It would have been more interesting if The Mayor had been sitting with them, enjoying a spliff and a can of Special Brew.

@"Diana Mond" - Why the totally unnecessary technology jibe? You can change your alias as often as you like, but we all know who you are.
Flo, it's vindictive that some people want her out of a job just because she supports the creation of this playpark. Especially given all the wonderful work she has done for our town. She's a real person with real bills to pay - it's a shame that some people (not you) can't make a distinction between how they act in the real world and how they behave in their online world.
Well let's hope the rent is paid and that no more trees are felled in that area.

Just took a walk over the fields and saw the new build near completion, very nice if you can afford it. Certainly an improvement on what it replaced.

I've been away for a while and have had restricted access to emails which may account for the fact that I missed reading this response from an officer at TDC sent to me the day after my letter was published in the Gazette. Here is part of the TDC email response. It gives answers to my questions of 1) who owns the countryside park and 2) who would be paying for its maintenance. It seems that ...

A DevonLive campaign to save direct train services linking the north and the Midlands to Devon's holiday resorts has succeeded in saving the trains - for now. More than 1,000 people signed our petition after Cross Country announced their plans to axe services. The plans would have seen all but one Cross Country Trains service from Paignton axed. The only remaining service to stop at Dawlish, ...

There were indeed many plans for Dawlish during the years, a new bandstand - in 2000 and again a few years ago. Sculptors along the sea front, pontoons, a resturant along the breakwater, landscaped gardens at the manor, a land train, dredging of the whole brook.....along many more.....but the council has lost all those willing to push new ideas, because those who werent called the shots, and had ...
Margaret dont take life so seriously it was a bit of fun and in the past i have taken my fair share of nasty comments but hey it would take more than anything that happens on here to upset me its only banter at its worse

They are still there although muddy and wet.
Every CEO gets too much look at Phillip Green And people do hand down clothes, if you're lucky enough to know anyone with children. All CEOs are overpaid look at Phillip Green the point is the charity gets money. Life isn't fair I learnt that at an early age.
WHO postpned the opening, will the Dawlish Countryside Park be closed each time it rains. Buy some weather gear and go out, up on the Farm I have to go out every day.
As I walked through town yesterday there was a police officer (female) sat on the bench where we would normally see the alcoholics, obviously she was on her own. As I carried on my way home I came across four of the alcoholics sat on the bench above the beach manager's hut merrily drinking their day away! I wonder how long she sat there thinking she was doing a good job?
Proof of the pudding! time will tell. Gallons of water used in testing, scarey!!!!!!!!!!!! Will be stopping at Dawlish?
My point is it hasnt been sorted in 20 years so its likely to be the same for the next 20 years.

Not me. I have seen them so many times, I have lost interest in looking out for them.
Taken it too. But what a load of rubbish. It even can't help itself but to contine to mention Newton Abbot everywhere within in it. Oh well. Did my bit.
@webmaster , certainly didn't come across that way, now if you're dawlish born and bred, or even from the town, you'll know like me the town is built on the bickering foundation trust. no one will win there i'm afraid. but my points and observation still stands, more so this is a thread about the carnival week just gone, not much about it yet....
Well i witnessed a plain car pulling a van driver on Exeter Road only yesterday and you are aware with a photo or dashcam footage you can report any driver to the Police.

An animal lover has spoken about her joy after being reunited with her pet skunk which went missing during a camping trip in North Devon. After having no luck finding Dottie, Sarah returned to Dawlish on Monday, July 3. She described going home without her skunk as "very difficult". But the point is that with the free movement agreement between the RoI and the UK, the UK will not necessarily know who has entered the UK and who has left it. We may know, courtesy of the Irish border authorities, who has entered the Republic via their official passport controls, but how will we know whether or not those people have consequently travelled into the UK? And remember that a lot ...
Park Holidays UK, which owns 26 holiday parks in Southern and Western England, said the quick fire sales, which were first piloted in 2016, will enable the business to make big savings in administration costs. A three-night stay for six at Golden Sands holiday park in Dawlish, Devon, sold originally for £658.00 earlier this year, however it's now been discounted by 60% to £269.00. Read ...
