Could it be hollow talk ,not so sure. if they do take the inland route instead of the present it could happen that the railway line could be abandoned to nature. Will they keep repairing this line every two or three years, it won't make sense unless the answer is very drastic.

How can the government consider HS2 as a priority, when nothing has been done to prevent rail travel in Devon and Cornwall. I would think it's importance for supplies to the Navy in Plymouth alone would be a major concern.

Now Angela Merkel is in government with a  far right party. Her position is not so secure as it was yesterday. After all the problems We have been involved wars ,austerity, bank crashes, brexit, elections to win elections to lose etc,etc My opinion is the quality of parliamentarians, especially those that have somehow attained higher office over the last 40 odd  years have been sadly a bunch of under achievers. Having just joined the ranks of being a pensioner I wonder how these people look in the mirror or sleep at night when they take my council tax out of my monthly entitlement. Would like to comment more bluntly but Ladies present.

Hi Lynne i respect your point of view but it does omit one thing when Ted Heath took us into Europe the ballot paper only allowed the vote on joining the Common Market not the federal state of Europe and every detail it would cover.In fact it may be wiser to say we were mislead and so our entry was invalid.

Since writing above comments i think it was Sunday politics and the lady was Anne Beathekt Hope this is correct but the hype against leaving to Norway was uncanny. If anyone thinks the E.U.will stop a war in Europe I think someone must have thier head up their Ar-e. Russia if they feel threatened by an expanding  EU on their borders will simply invade and the rub is there will be no united front as proved with Crimea. If all the countries in Europe were to join the EU then all that has been achieved is another tier of undemocratic government.
