To respond to Youth Worker - I cannot speak for any others, but from my point of view it most certainly might well have helped DAY's cause if DAY had consulted with parents, residents etc and in doing so publicised what they were thinking of doing. They didn't - which hasn't helped what they are trying to achieve one iota. Those who might have helped them achieve their aims have been alienated. ...

Just found this. It is a press release from Devon County Council dated 20.5.08 Dawlish Integrated Youth Centre £700,000 There is currently very limited youth provision in Dawlish which has over 2,000 young people aged 11 to 19 living in the area. The Centre will be used to deliver a range of youth support services including positive activities to promote personal and social development, as well as ...
on the planning application, DAY says it has consulted. Who with - that's not clear. It's not with residents. Could it be with youth? And which youth? Local Dawlish or wider Teignbridge disaffected ones?
I know they are cutting down these trees, but they will be replacing the trees with newly planted ones, moved slightly further forward to accommodate the skate park. Just thought I'd let you all know.
Viaduct, Olive does not live in a dream world. I think her comments are very true and if it wasn't for people like Olive what a depressing world we would live in. Keep up the positive comments Olive, you never know they may rub off on some.
We havent moved in yet, but know a few children from the village go to Exeter. Our daughter is well adjusted and happy at her school. We have had to move to be near my elderly parents. Our concern has always been our children their happiness and welfare. There has been so much negative input about the local schools Our daughter travels a distance to school now, as we live in a rural area. ...
Schools aren't, or in my view shouldn't be, just about exam results.
I wasn't saying I didn't want expansion. I wasn't saying that I didn't want new houses built. I was saying that I thought it stupid to the point of dangerous to have the main throughfare in and out of this new development going past two schools.
from a parent of a dawlish united player, thanks go out to both teams playing today in terrible conditions.I hope this doesn't appear to be one sided, but dawlish united always looked in full control {even though they went 1 nil down} they wanted to win for there town and club. Yes alot of talent in this side.
It strikes me that this whole school league table thing is abject nonsense and the quicker central government gets the whole thing knocked into touch the better. Manchester United & Liverpool are really good football teams. Why? Because they are comprised of those who are really talented at football. Can you compare them to Torquay United? Both are football teams after all? Why should some teams ...
Hi Ziggy, did you also notice how many of the older generation were watching over your shoulder, trying to see what way people were voting, as we did when we were filling in our forms, i was quite expecting a lynch mob waiting for us outside!!
I take it you never have to run the school gauntlet then.
Ooops, sorry Angry, i take it u,ve already complained there then!
My child was educated at Gatehouse at is now at DCC. Gatehouse was excellent. She had a good education there, her teachers were very supportive and they do have a bullying policy. We did have some problems with a classmate and they were addressed. The head there is lovely, very approachable. DCC is giving her a good educational experience so far. The facilities there are fantastic and the new head ...
Why do people let their dogs crap all over the pavements on the path leading to Gatehouse School? The situation is getting worse and is obviously upsetting for any of the children who step in this on their way into school. Does anyone know who could do something to stop this??
