We all can write a good story , but seeing as Dawlish Town seem to be wanting to help the community and youth of dawlish , Answere me this , 1 the under16s side mm how many live in dawlish ??
2 i noticed that you have offered the use of your mini buses to Chelston ,, why not Dawlish United?
Are you going to bring in more out side players to forefill your 5 year dream!!! and then watch the true children of dawlish suffer and roam the streets because they cant get a game in your elite teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dawlish United offer true community football , and the club doesnt hide behind big wage structures and fund wages by having a so called prize draw !! were the money ends up in the pockets of the collectors and paying wages!!!!!! now put that in the papers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you muppet , its not about the kids its about winning this is why Dawlish Town will always win over Dawlish United .
So what if the player come from out the area , Dave fenner is doing every thing correct , he wants the Town to move to new grounds and get more players for the club. So what if they dont come from Dawlish , let the untallented youth of dawlish chose another sport and let Dawlish Town get on with Tesco !
And there coaches are very good and deserved to be paid !

It's nice to see that someone can be supportive of their local team. And when Dawlish Town leave to go to their new ground i hope the stand isn't built to big because they have trouble filling the one they got now!!!!!

What is the difference between Dawlish Utd and Dawlish Town fotball clubs? Are they two different clubs and if so who plays where and when?

Dawlish United offer children from the age of 6 to adult age. To enjoy and learn how to play football. All coaches are CRB checked and have community status award . Having said that Dawlish United main priority is for children to play and enjoy there football in a safe and happy enviroment!!
Dawlish Town approached dawlish united to have the 2 clubs join together . it wasnt till you read the small print and read through the bull shit you will understand that Dawlish Town only have one aim, thats to have the funding and grants that are available to the children set up to fund there first team that get paid about£30 a game . therefore the only reason you see Dawlish Town going to so much effort is because they want the kids which= £££££££. Once they have the money then you will see the kids foot diminish .
so in a nut shell Dawlish United= kids football
Dawlish town = first team wages!!!

You make me laugh .
Any team will always play there best sides, they want to win.
If the kids of dawlish are crap at football then anyone would go to other clubs and get better players .Its not about kids football idiot! you dont see kids playing top class football !
Learn the game Dawlish Town have the right ideas. WINNING IS EVERYTHING NO ONE REMEMBERS 2ND PLACE

Shut up loser, why dont dalwish town move their ground to torquay where alot of the player live and give dawlish its own football team with local players and local supporters, maybe they will get more support then the 20 people that watch dawlish town at the moment! As for the pay of the players, its reported that DAWLISH town top earner is on £220 a match not £30!!!!

It was not so long ago that Mr Fenner was trying to get the two clubs to get together so he could use Uniteds FA COMMUNITY Award, to open doors to fund his dream! As for saying the youth are crap,I think you're the muppet! United have players on the books of Argyle and Torquay and Exeter City. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it

Hmmmmm. Seems that Dave Fenner has a few questions to answer.

I think everyone has to bear in mind that his soul aim is further the prospects of Dawlish Town AFC both in terms of facilities and in terms of the league they play in. As I understand it they cannot progress into higher leagues until they have better facilities.

Get the picture now of what he is up to?

There must be a better way of doing business, rather than selling draw tickets door to door in Dawlish and saying its for the youth, when none of the money raised goes to the youth of Dawlish, as not one player of Towns youth side comes from Dawlish.
I realise Mr Fenner is a business man for Town, but United is run entirely by volunteers who help run the club for the enjoyment they get from watching kids skills develop.
To send a sales rep type around selling tickets for the youth of Dawlish is a big no no
as the youth of Dawlish don't receive a penny

So No money goes through to Dawlish United , the rep told me it was for the youth of dawlish , There crooks stealing from the youth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAWLISH UNITED THE FACTS
NO COACH MANAGER RECIEVES A PENNY NOT EVEN FOR TRAVELLING TO AND FROM GAME.
The clubs as approx 250 children , young and old signed. training 2 times a week and games at weekends when possible,
Monies to the club - are recieved via children for training , this money then goes in for pitch fees
Pitch fees , yes the pitch fees are about £800 - £1000 amonth
Teignbridge council will not give the pravilion nor are they are prepared to spend any money on it. Its falling down it leaks and the facillites for the size of dawlish is a joke ,, there the worst facillities in the leagues
Ok so the talk about tescos stuff , yes dawlish united are being forced off the pitches.
So where does that leave dawlish , well new land as been proccured, near the warren , but its not ideal nor will it be , dawlish want the pitches and the pravillion but the council seem unwilling to give anything , there only interested in £££.
How can anyone help well , money is not what the club needs , they need help to grow and nurture the club along and everyone in dawlish can help . All that is needed is to get the council to give the land to dawlish united then your tesco prob will be gone and dawlish will be able to carry on training the youth of dawlish.

As a matter of interest Prizedraw, how much was it that Teignbridge District council wanted to charge United for use of the pavilion?

Totally agree - United should stay on Sandy Lane rec for their games.

Todays result shows that playing in same team from the age of 7 BREADS a team .and not just a bunch of trophy hunters who go from team to team looking for medals season to season.
yes a team whos parent no eachother by name.
AND have grown up in Dawlish. And a team that play for the shirt. well done to DAWLISH as they are UNITED.I wish Dawlish town all the best playing on the TESCO car park..

so my smelling is crap but u missing the point.
how can Dawlish town under 16 be called a dawlish community team when only one member of the team lives in Dawlish and he spent the game sat on his ass.(funny he played in goal for Dawlish united as a boy.)

04 Feb 2008 12:43

Well in the old days the kids had lots of open space to play in and enjoyed the outdoor life and unfortunatly spelling was not the top of their agenda. I think perhaps Colin may have spent much of his youth out and about playing in the fresh air. Unfortunatly his literacy skills are more important to some people than the local community and where it is heading for the youth of Dawlish.Lets just hope that one day the sense of community wil return and the kids will benefit once more.
