Dawlish link road delivery options (final report) March 2016 https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=46830&p=0
@Lynne - from appendix b. you have a total of 86 dwellings titled 'sample of properties sold since jan 2014'. i note a total of 86 dwellings with the most expensive being £351,950 and the cheapest at £77k. on breakdown you have 28 under £200k and of that only 2 under £150. for new developments praised for resolving the local peoples housing problem, i think not. I don't belive the majority of ...
I think it is 75 not 73 based on teignbridge planning website. They show 73 on the left of the junction and 75 on the right as you face sandy lane. Also it looks as though the garage has been converted to a living area. I believe you require change of use for that and I cannot see an application for that, for 75. I think you would need to submit a retrospective application if you bought the ...
Pics I took walking along Teignmouth sea wall this a.m.
@roberta -your post 08 april 2016 15:36 - it's not your place to decide, for others, when to stop discussing, debating, communicating about any thread on this site. if people wish to continue airing their thoughts, that is their right. why should we 'bury this thread' a significant amount of local money has been wasted at a time when the council is shouting poverty and running down essential ...
17 previous convictions for burglary, convicted on 2 further charges....6 years and out in 2! How many lives has this individual destroyed through his law breaking? I wonder what he will do when he gets released, uhm!
Interesting reading looking back to 2011.
Drugs, Dawlish,,,, what a shocker, who would have thought it, not. From the rumours I have heard drugs/alcohol linked to social issues in Dawlish has been going on for decades.
Yes and we know where all these units will be destined for when the North gets rid of them - the west country!
Hope they catch the person(s) who did this. I cannot believe no one saw this happen if the time the incident occurred is correct - 12:30 - 3:00pm, middle of the day! If the car is written off you can normally buy it back off the insurance company. The damage to the car looks mainly cosmetic, a new mirror(s) and a bit of bashing on the inside of the roof and you've got a decent car for a small ...
@FredBassett - good points, don't the local/district/county council's get some sort of allowance for the total number of miles of cycle path on their patch. i saw to often the lunacy of these developements in london, when i lived there. they would take an extremely busy road, which always had hundred's of cars parked on it and put a cycle path on it. the cyclist's could never use it because people ...
@ZIGGY - thanks for the heads up, but call 101 what a joke that service is - not fit for purposes. Okay I suppose if you want to sit on your phone line racking up a charge for 20 to 40 min's or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Checking the reg they show, I know they say 'similar to', but checking car parts websites that specific reg does not exist anyway. Would it not have been better to ...
What is worse for dog owner's who actually pick up their dog's no 2's is stepping in some that hasn't been picked up by an ignorant dog walker, obviously I exclude blind dog's who I would pickup myself if I saw it doing a no 2. Can't expect the owner to pick it up. What's the green paint for. If they do it on the grass it makes it more camoflauged than it was before, typical council thinking. A ...
On numerous occassions on walking on the path along the edge of the Point car park in Teignmouth. The walkway is obstructed or even blocked by numerous people fishing with their rods, equipment and feet blocking this walkway. I understand why they do it, because it's convienant for them, but for everyone else it's just a nusiance. How about getting some signs up on the rails to prohibit ...
You may find this interesting, or not! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_space_programme#Origin_of_the_space_programme
The Barton car park near the old citizens advice normally has the odd couple of cars parked next to each other with numerous young people looking shifty! I see the Barton car park seat was replaced. This is where u get quite a crowd of people drinking, making a lot of noise and rubbish and smoking strange substances. You can't blame the police for not being on top of all of this when they, I ...

It would be interesting to see a current breakdown of all ranks and salary bands within the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. I think you will find a rather bloated and top heavy management structure in place within this system. How many pcso's could we have for the price of one superintendent?
Walking along the sea wall this morning the security guard, on duty, said he had heard rumours that they were looking to have it opened in time for the airshow.
Just a shame they are taking soooooooo looooooooong to finish the path!
Saw lots of these jellyfish on my walk today down along the beach at Teignmouth. Some very fine examples still intact and seemed to be possibly alive.
@HuwMatthews2 (11may 2015 22:22) - well said.
Walking along the sea wall at Dawlish yesterday. Spoke with the guard on sentry duty who advised that due to strong sea's during the last section of construction of the path/wall. It may not be completed until June/July. Anyone have any other info when it might be completed. Just want to walk on the old section of beach. Closed Feb 2014 will open when?
Walking through Teignmouth, near the seafront, this morning, and saw the aftermath of a car that seemed to have rolled back into a parked Volvo estate. Police were in attendance and one lone male was with him. I had a look and for the life of me could not work out how the blue car had come to make contact with the parked Volvo. There were no empty car park spaces opposite. Where the blue car may ...
@Beezlebub2000-Flitflot - yes, and i wonder who is paying for that, retorical! a prime example of why this country is in such a dire pile of rear end waste. while those in charge of governing it pay their family members up to £50 k a pop to sharpen their pencils, so to speak. even the scots have had enough of us and that's really scraping the bottom of the sporon.
@Mrs C - now that's a step in the right direction. I heard that you could also adopt a Dartmoor pony to go with your free luxury home. Will you be getting one of the homes?
I expect the screen will be more houses! They seem to have destroyed most of the tree line that was in place on the borders when they first started destruction, I mean construction!
@neilh - the immigrants who invaded the continent, now called the u.s.a, had no issues with exterminating nearly all the indigineous population. the natives respected the land and only took from it what they needed to survive. are you surprised that they would hesitate to allow israel to resupply from the local american ammo dump/base!
Byelaws that should be abided by on The Lawn should be posted at all entrances. Anyone breaking any of the byelaws should be put in stocks on The Lawn for an hour. Local shops can supply out of date veg, etc for people to throw at them. Oh! the stocks could be built and supplied by one of the local prisons. Just a thought.
I took a drive up to the Warren and had a walk along the sea wall back towards Dawlish. A beautiful morning to be alive and living in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Even if we still like to winge a lot down here.
Well I must be living in another Dawlish in Devon. Bushes growing out of the curbs, rubbish strewn all over the place, public paths looking like jungles. There my be budget cuts at the council, but I'm still paying £2k a year for not a lot. Also, not to forget all the great plans that the councils implement at great tax payer expensive that become white elephants and/or just a complete waste of ...
