Saw this online

Ten least affordable

Oxford
Winchester
Greater London
Cambridge
Bath
Brighton and Hove
Truro
St Albans
Chichester

Exeter

so if Exeter is a 'least affordable'  place to buy property then I guess people will start looking at/have already started looking at towns near to Exeter. And I guess again that in  so doing they then push prices up in those towns.

I wonder if that has happened/is happening in Dawlish?

For an idea of how much properties have sold for on the new Strongvox, Bovis/Cavanna and Barrats (The Buntings) developments since 2014 click on this link and then scroll down to page 23, Appendix B

@Lynne - from appendix b. you have a total of 86 dwellings titled 'sample of properties sold since jan 2014'. i note a total of 86 dwellings with the most expensive being £351,950 and the cheapest at £77k. on breakdown you have 28 under £200k and of that only 2 under £150. for new developments praised for resolving the local peoples housing problem, i think not.

I don't belive the majority of people who live in Dawlish believe any of the flannel that the reason there was a need for this vast developments was to resolve the housing issues for local people. A few may be housed, but for the majority I do not believe this is the case.

There is only one motive, in my opinion, and that is large companies making large profits.
