OK, well that is a good idea.

@DJ , I totally agree, 650 MPs is stupidly high. For example, Plymouth has 3 MPs, each of them doing nothing, so why not just have one MP doing for Plymouth instead?
We should all have these stickers.

Excellent. Looking forward to buying some mature cheddar. Thanks @Lindapetherick .
Just found this short film - http://vimeo.com/69325515 which is mostly filmed in Plymouth. If you own a video camera why not make a film based in or about Dawlish.
My vote goes to UKIP, who are you voting for? http://new.devon.gov.uk/democracy/elections2013/division/?division=46
@DJ , i didn't read the article, i did just presume it was about margaret thatcher. i've been publicly shamed and have learnt my lesson. Now having read the article and letters. Glenda is right to be outraged by a fellow politician, party chairman or not, sending her party BS, which can only be viewed as disrespectful.
Yep payday loans don't help anyone. A typical loan scenario. Borrow £400 for 3 months. At the end of months 1 and 2 you pay a loan charge of £120, at the end of month 3 (end of loan) you pay the loan charge of £120 plus the loan is paid back, £400. On £400 you pay back £760, but the worst part is that you pay £520 for the last payment. Not many people would find this helpful, most won't make ...
Well all I did was speak my mind! I notice that the train station is currently being repainted, another thing to be greatful for. The town will look lovely by the summer.
Yeah good point. However a new Royal Yacht to advertise the UK would be a worthy cause. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/9027811/Nothing-would-make-the-case-for-Britishness-like-a-new-royal-yacht.html
@ZIGGY , well perhaps we'll get some snow over the weekend, get blocked in and then we won't have to go school or work.
Brilliant! (I can't wait for that damn wall to go)
Yep totally agree, Dawlish is an amazing place to live.
the price of water does vary a lot @wriggler but i am not sure you have your prices correct. 34p is very cheap for diesel. Typical fuel stations prices are more like (per 500ml): Coke - £1.20 Water - £1.00 Diesel - 71p Milk - 50p
Police have released CCTV footage of two people they want to speak to in connection with a theft at the Sainsbury's supermarket in Dawlish. They are suspected of taking approximately £35 worth of toiletries on Saturday, October 6 at the store before leaving without paying. The first is described as a white male, approximately 22-years-old, five feet nine inches, medium build with short brown ...
I completely agree, we must stop all this laziness. This would be another step towards a fairer society. Brilliant news. Link: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/endless-benefits-for-big-families-is-madness-says-iain-duncan-smith-8226148.html
My friends and I often use taxis especially for a night out in Exeter. We usually have difficulty getting a 6 seater and have to wait too long for one to become available. I'm very grateful for this post as we will definitely ring Abacus Taxis in the near future.
thanks @flo and @HuwMatthews2 for your replies. Wasting their time sounds fun.
Had a great time at the Boathouse beer festival along with many others. The weather could have been better but I don't think that bothered anyone though. Hollow Underground were great. Now looking forward to a great summer of fun in Dawlish.
Morning all! We hope you're all well and looking forward to this afternoon's activities?! Obviously the weather has caused quite a lot of concern, but we've spoken to the Red Arrows this morning and they can see no reason why they shouldn't be able to display at Dawlish this afternoon. As such we're still anticipating that the flying display will commence around 1200 but should anything ...

The heavenly scent of pinks grown in the Westcountry greeted TV presenter Angela Rippon at the preview day of the Chelsea Flower Show yesterday, writes Sarah Pitt. Angela, an ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society, was presented with Memories, a new scented variety bred at Whetman Pinks in Dawlish in South Devon. A Devon town long-associated with violets is to resurrect a tradition centred around the flowers. Dawlish will revive its Violet Ball, an event which started when the popularity of the flowers declined, to raise money for Cancer Research UK and The Strand Centre. In the 1920s and 1930s Dawlish was more famous for its violets than its beaches and many people visiting Dawlish would wear a posy ...
DAWLISH Art Group has hailed a success its annual spring exhibition. Members of the group held their show in the United Reforms Church in Dawlish between May 1 and 5. The exhibition featured members' works in a variety of media — including watercolour, pastels, acrylics and oils. Lots of visitors from all parts of the country and locals enjoyed the paintings, prints and cards on sale. The ...
