Spot on. Unbeatable! It was lovely on Sunday to see so many families enjoying themselves on the beach at Dawlish.

For anyone who's interested in knowing more, it's worth checking what the BBC has to say, and the links from their article. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-17295078
Dawlish is so unusual in having a main shopping street running alongside lawns, flowerbeds and a river with ducks and swans. There's nowhere else like it in the country. I think it's lovely!
I asked Alison Seabeck MP about it via Twitter, her reply was " @DawlishBlue Not my idea I was merely asked by BBC to comment and in my view it, along with a range of other ideas, should be discussed."
I can't argue with that Webmaster, well said!
It depends what time you want to shop. There are times when there are plenty of spaces on the Strand. Local food shops need to have free parking close by - if you have to get in your car to get to a shop and the local Supermarket has free parking but the local High Street doesn't, then that gives the Supermarket an unfair advantage.
It was very well run last summer, with attractive tables and chairs set out overlooking the beach. I used it a number of times. The people running it paint it before opening for the season. It must be difficult to keep it looking good because of the battering it gets from the sea in winter.
Libby, 007 - thank you I'd be very happy to get feedback and suggestions. If anyone has any articles or information about Dawlish I could use, I'd be very grateful. I'm also happy to post details of Dawlish events - I can be contacted via the contact form on DawlishBlue.
This is really bad news! I'm very sorry to see them go. :-(
The way this discussion forum is structured it's much easier to keep track of a thread than it is on Facebook. People frequently revisit a subject long after the thread has gone 'cold' and revitalise it, as happened with this one. You wouldn't do that on Facebook. Please don't remove this forum.

The London 2012 site answered my question: Where will the Torch actually be carried by a Torchbearer? We want to give our Torchbearers who carry the Olympic Flame a sense of occasion and a crowd helps with that. As a result, Torchbearers will carry the Olympic Flame in many rural communities but it is not a continuous Relay of people passing the Olympic Flame to each other. Between communities, ...
No, they haven't cut down on their products, they've just rearranged the store! If you look you'll see they have the same ranges as before.

I also received a reply from Anne Marie Morris' secretary containing that sentence. Like Carer, I thought it was very 2 faced of her. I didn't vote for her in the last election, and won't in the next. I'd rather have an MP capable of making up their own mind than one who just toes the party line.
Date change. Because of logistical problems with Car Parking generated by maybe a thousand people travelling to Haldon Forest on a Saturday, the rally has been POSTPONED until Saturday 2nd April. For more information go to http://www.eclipse.co.uk/exeter/haldon/
