I used to go to Exeter for shopping, now I go to Sainsburys, who employ many local people. How is the above answer selfish? It's just a statement of fact.

A drive through is needed. Shops in town can't be replied on to be open.
I agree Sundays are nice especially if you have Monday off. Looking forward to having a load later on. Bring on Beers!
If the government is going to give child benefit to parents / guardians / carers then what has it got to do with their gender? However I agree with SteveJ. Why tax people then give it back? Just seems silly to me.
Yeah exactly, why should it. Let's just have some well deserved fun.
The staff can have some weekends off and some weekdays off pretty basic really. If shops want to make money it would be a good idea to be open when people are available to buy.

I'm not saying that sea levels are rising or that sea levels are not rising. I'm saying that it is more likely that the moon is made of cheese, than any tunnel being constructed.
I see, how exciting, something is actually happening!
The lansdowne quite often has gigs on Fridays or Saturdays. http://www.lemonrock.com/lansdowne?page=gigs
OK, so at some time in the future hopefully we will have a new train station foot bridge. Excellent.
Well anyway, for those that don't pay for themselves, I think they should be given vouchers for necessary needed items, and not be given money, so that they can't enjoy themselves on the rest of us.
I work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day and travel an hour each way to work, I earn less than £35K, also working costs money, e.g. train ticket is £215 a month. Why should able people earn money for doing SOD ALL?
I'm not against dogs or dog owners, but why do some of them think it is ok to take up the entire pavement with them and their dog, expecting others to walk in the road? The council should set some strict by laws to control this very selfish behaviour by some dog owners, we have all, at some time stepped in dog muck and I think we should not except it any more.
I have received a demand from Teignbridge District Council for £500 for a tax council adjustment. Has anyone else had this and what the hell is it?
They should just use the 'Council' section of this forum, which posts to Facebook, Twitter and also has an Atom feed. (The links are at the top right corner of this page)
More importantly will they be selling beer at The Old Brewery?
I agree, The Exeter Inn is one of the nicest pubs in Dawlish. I've not had any of their food, although I've seen the food that others have had and it looks very nice. I have been in the Exeter Inn in the evening for a drink. The friendliness of the staff, locals and the general atmosphere make for a very relaxed experience (I have never seen any trouble there). Also on the weekend they usually ...
It is so nice to have a proper supermarket in Dawlish, I wish we had Sainsbury's years ago. What do people think about the new Sainsbury's supermarket?
I went shopping at Sainsbury's today, the store is brilliant, same layout as other larger stores. Will do all my household shopping there. Thanks Sainsbury's
Maybe Tesco. Perhaps they will buy up half Queen Street? And build a bigger store!
If you strike you are not willing to work and therefore should be sacked. If you don't like the job then leave. Simple!
It's stressful enough planning a wedding without receiving a email from your future mum-in-law detailing your many failings. But when the message, in which she says she pities your husband-to-be, becomes a global internet hit you know the Big Day is going to be a bit awkward. Heidi Withers, 29, received the rebuke from Carolyn Bourne, stepmum of her fiancé Freddie Bourne. The PA forwarded the ...

Everyone I have asked; want a Tesco supermarket.
Does anyone know if Bow Windows serves alcohol?
I bought a pizza from Palos Palace last night, it cost £14 for a large ham and pineapple. It was disgusting and I had to throw it away. It had almost no cheese, a few bits of ham, 2 bits of pineapple. Also they have posters up saying 'buy one pizza get one free' well I did not get a free pizza, however it would've been binned anyway. Is it just me who gets this awful service or have others had ...
Having a Tesco supermarket and a Sainsbury's supermarket in Dawlish would be excellent. • More choice • Competition between them for cheapest prices • Less busy stores • Greater parking capacity • Etc I can't see a down side to having 2 supermarkets.
A great occasion, watching the Royal Wedding on tele with a few beers is the way to go, and the Space Shuttle Endeavour launches on the same day. Most importantly it is a day off work - SWEET!
@jo2mcm , the talk-talk person that came to my door said the exact same thing 'exchange upgraded and had i received my letter'. They are obviously SCUM and need to be reported. The next time one comes to my door I will listen to them, show interest and get them to explain it all at great length, to waste as much of their time as possible, then right at the end say no thanks and close the door. ...
The Exeter Inn in Beach Street, Dawlish has reopened
A good shopping facility in Dawlish at last. Brilliant news; won't have to travel to Exeter to shop at sensible prices. Can't wait.
How many times have we all been at the station with a valid ticket waiting for a train that never turns up. Shouldn't the train company give us £20 each everytime?
