Just to add that as well as the town council recommending refusal, it (the town council's planning committee) also wished for the application to be decided by  TDC's planning committee rather than a TDC planning officer if the planning officer was inclined to agree to the planning application. On the subject of house building numbers. This is from the December 2019 Conservative party general election manifesto: " we will continue our progress towards our target of 300,000 homes a year by the mid-2020s. The 2 x planning applications from Network Rail concerning the railway station and wall are due to be heard at the next TDC planning committee meeting starting 10.00am on Tuesday 18th August.
