@ZIGGY - thanks.
I"m curious does anybody in the town have to put up with ASB? And for any parents reading this do you know where your teenage kids are during the night time hours? The new protection order has had some effect with the druggies and dopeheads, but now it appears there is another issue with teenagers hanging out around the happy hut area.
Well that's all finished tree is all ready down all the decks put away bags packed and i am away to the Lakes have a good New Year people and all the best.
I live in Holcombe and have had 28 tonne tipper trucks driving up the lane next to my house for months now (as witnessed by the demolished wall opposite my house). I just live with it. Someone's doing some work....so what? But then I'm not yet a whinging git!
AKA The Widows Penny. Worth about £100.....if anyone would want to buy it.
And today Rick Parfitt of Status Quo has died as well.
Nice .... Have a good CHRISTMAS...
So will we the residents of Teignbridge be forking out for a builders cockup, but then the residents of Carhaix must be grateful as they wont like it when they get heavy constuction traffic using Carhaix as a short cut to the Gatehouse building site because the link road will not be built first.
This link should take you to the new timetable https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/south-west/exeter-area-timetable-changes-from-3-january-2017 and this to the petition concerning the new timetable. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/don-t-stop-the-2-bus-from-hopping-maintain-the-2-bus-service-at-three-buses-an-hour
@Merlin228 - thanks, i must admit it was quite a pea souper.
@Pete - appreciated.
Before the twentieth century, members of parliament were unpaid as it was assumed they would have another income. The first regular salary was £400 per year, introduced by the Parliament Act of 1911. Some subsequent salary levels were £1000 in 1946, £3250 in 1964, £11,750 in 1980, and £26,701 in 1990. The increases in MPs' basic salaries since 1996 have been: Increase date Basic salary Jan ...
Well done to whoever on the Council arranged for the lighted swans on the bridge, tthey look fab in the dark. And so do he lights over the brook, as they always have done. And to think, not too long ago some councillors wanted to get rid of the lights over the Brook and replace them with modern rubbish that would have not looked anywhere near as attractive as the 'old fashioned' lights!
It's a pity we were not informed about all this supranationalism and integration in the early 70s when we joined the Common Market, instead of being lied to and told we were merely joining a trading bloc. The result of the 1975 referendum might have been very different if people knew the truth back then, but at least we put it right in June this year. If anything the EU has made war more ...
Well a bit after sunrise, about 08:30 hrs, but still looked quite good.
I thought that was what poultry did first thing in the morning, isn't that why a cockeral makes all that noise to get the woman up and about?
A DAWLISH holiday park will be welcoming Father Christmas as well as three other special guests next week. The free to enter event will raise money for Children's Hospice South West, and will see Santa sweep in to Cofton on a sleigh drawn by Comet and Cupid at midday, ready for photos with children between 12pm and 1pm. @DJ - so true, i know i winge a lot on this site, but mainly about how poorly our services and infrastructure are managed, but what a beautiful part of the country to live in. to a certain degree the lack of investment and building has allowed us to keep what a lot of the country has lost through urbinisation. Over the past 30 years I have moved home as the area I lived in, once a tranquil ...
Just wondered if anyone is going to do anything to stop this abhorrent waste of public money at a time when bus and train services are having to be cut and our main road in and out of town is rapidly becoming unfit for purpose. How can a scheme with so little local intrest even be considered 150 attendancies at a public meeting of which 30% went to object. Come on local businesses this is just ...
This means Teignmouth and Dawlish also lose seven services and the stops at Newton Abbot will be reduced. Today, the Herald Express has teamed up with politicians, business and tourism leaders to launch a campaign to Save our Trains and we need all our readers to sign up and object to the proposals. The video was created by Exeter-based agency HoneyBe Creative. It aims to support a crowdfunding campaign to help keep beavers living in the wild on the River Otter in East Devon. The video was shot in Dawlish and stars a dog provided by Sandra Cowell, alongside Nora, the Devon Wildlife Trust beaver mascot. It was one of four dogs there on the day but only one was needed during the shoot. ...

Taking a walk along the Dawlish seafront last night and happened to notice the brick pool area opposite the entrance to the seafront under the railway bridge was up to the top of the lower wall. Only had my phone on me so the photo's are a bit poor. Also the sea wall has been scoured deeper than I have seen it in the last 12 years or so, in places the wall to the beach level is around 12 ...
Thanks for the petition link Lynne. Obviously the more that sign the petition better - and as with all these things it will be good to see what sort of response this will generate.
@HuwMatthews2 - many thanks for the info, seeing as i have seen the boat with lobster/crab pots on board it explains why.
Click on this link for info on the Devon Home Choice scheme http://www.devonhomechoice.com/Devon_Home_Choice/CFEFaq.jsp?selectedMenu=Faq I'm genuinely interested to know how the Home Choice scheme is allegedly responsible for Dawlish having residents who have substance addiction problems. Can someone tell me please.
Still no photos of the Market, I was away for weekend, how was the Market.

@FredBassett - a possible explanation for the the time scale may be down to the police believing the accident could end in loss of life. even if no one involved at the rtc was at the time the police arrived. a detailed investigation of the scene is required for assesment of the incident for a possible future arrest/court proceedings.
If all the pubs, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, sweet shops etc gave just £100 each, then that would be a great boost to the air show and they will easily recoup that money with all the extra people coming in.
When I was working on night shift down at the Warren on one of the caravan sites. There was a prolific peeping tom that frequented the caravan sites of an evening who camped in the woods. It's out of holiday season, but he may be making an early start for next year.
Now they are digging the same pavements up that had the slurry poured on them last month !
