From a different side/angle I see in the paper that even paying by good old fashion cash in the carpark machines they don't give change and that Teignbridge council have raked in an extra £300,000 plus the other year through this "NO change" money grapping machines.

You have a good eye scenic shoots, with some of them reminding me of John Carpenters film from the 1980's "The Fog"...!

Much of the problem is not about the mode of transport ie. cycle or mobility scooter but todays attitude of those who use them. If I remember correctly any council must observe the hedgerows regulation act from 1997, which means they have to leave cutting/removing of hedgerows and trees from the 1st of March until the 31st of August, this is for the protection of nesting birds and wildlife. @ Margaret, so are you telling us that network rail is actively discriminating against those with disablities who have to use mobility scooters from enjoying going along one of the most beautiful sea view pathways ?

Just waiting for there to be news of a hose pipe ban due to water shortage..... well ok maybe not just yet, but with all the new homes proposed to be built in Dawlish and sourrounding area this will be more likely than ever.

Since 1922 the average turn out for a general election is around 64.6% , for this one off vote the turn out was 72% which regardless on what side of the fence people are shows that this vote  was more fought over than who we have in our own houses of parliament .

Just a casual query, on all new homes when being built should they now include an outside power point for electric/dual fuel cars to be plugged into as I have read that the average cost of having one of these installed is £1400 before any grant if available is given.

Yet again this country shows how out-dated we are in how the electoral system works , why have we not updated the whole platform where by everyone is automatically registered when reaching the age for vote as other countries do. But then answering this myself maybe that it will show all the flaws in that the goverment has no idea on who's living here and who's eligible to vote or not !

@ Neo Some of the looks given by people especially parents with youngsters on the beach reminds me of the saying "if looks could kill". Many years back we had to pass the cycle proficiency test before being allowed to cycle to school, cyclist today need to be educated more before riding on our ever increasing busy roads. Maybe cyclist should be fined for not using the cycle paths and where they shouldn't be riding. If they have no ID on them as to avoid paying then have the bikes confiscated so forcing them to pay on collecting ...

@MV yes I beleive they will be there this year but as of this moment I do not know when they are allowed to operate from and till.

I worked with some of the largest house builders across the country and around the world, when outline planning is granted they have to make provisions for around 10% to be built as social/affordable homes. A friend of mine is a motorcycle instructor and on this point he says when teaching look at a roundabout like a 12hr clock, any turn off between 12 and 6 you would normaly use the right hand land and from 6 to 12 the left unless lanes are marked other wise.

@Carer on that premisis does that also mean those with a waste disposal system, the type that mulches food ect and then goes into the waste water system mean they are also in breach of tdc new waste disposal regulations?

Having travelled around europe it seems to me that we the people of UK are in the minority in having this obsession in home ownership compared to renting. Maybe it's those at the top who started this two tier society of the few and then the rest to show who's better off than others, which still seems to be alive today as those who rent are still looked down on as less successful by those who buy.( ...

I will cast my vote at the due time, but now more than ever in the past it is more to do with disagreeing with one party than approving with the others. After all it seems to me that the only reason thy are/want to be MPs is for themselfs and what they can get out of it.

Maybe TDC should of been more positive when they demolished the old buildings and replaced them with just one retailer. Whilst I admit they where looking run down, replacing them all and letting individual traders continue whould of been better in keeping more employed with more variation in goods being sold thus keeping more people at the warren bringing in more income to the area. I have heard figures of in the region upto £17,000 already being spent on this project, would any councillor be honest enough to say what has been spent and how much more would need to be for this project to go through to build stage.

Apart from the vital route for the southwest into the capital the seafront rail line is surely one of the tourism highlights for Dawlish, not only the intercity trains but local carriages and not forgetting the steam trains that attract hundreds of visitors. Without this line I can see Dawlish falling off the tourist map which will have devastating effects for the whole community.

Funny how the concerns are now being raised again when at rockpool cafe they where granted a licence to sell alcohol for the beach , this will only give the alkies another place to move onto and cause more upset for locals and holidaymakers there. But then this reason maybe why teighnbridge council portfolio manager has not gave them permision to sell drink yet !

As I understand the colour is the original colour match from years ago and of cause it will naturally fade with time, again it seems to be some toffy noise jealous idiot who doesn't like it who has caused all this upset for the owner. The pirates chest is still up and running  with Bob, Barbra & Eugene at the helm.. Just location changed to Dawlish beach right side of the viaduct

With the disgraceful decision of TDC not to allow Bob & Barbra continue to run the beach cafe at coryton cove the new tenants have applied for a license to sell alcohol and for live entertainment !!! We beleive this will lead to a rise in anti social behaviour on the beach and the surrounding area. Coryton cove has always been a safe family beach and does not need or want this. Could you all ...
