With the disgraceful decision of TDC not to allow Bob & Barbra continue to run the beach cafe at coryton cove the new tenants have applied for a license to sell alcohol and for live entertainment !!! We beleive this will lead to a rise in anti social behaviour on the beach and the surrounding area. Coryton cove has always been a safe family beach and does not need or want this. Could you all please write via snail mail to : The Licensing Section , Teignbridge District Council , Forde House , Brunel Road , Newton Abbot , TQ12 4XX by the 31st of May 2013 letting them know your views as to why this apllication should be rejected thank you.

It's the first I've heard about it and I'd want to know exactly what is being applied for before I express an opinion

I've often thought that a visit to Coryton Cove would be enhanced if only I had a cold glass of Chardonney or a cool beer, and I love to hear street music anywhere.  Provided the hours are realistic (ie not late into the night) then why not?  It's a great idea.

I'm not sure having a booze licence will make much difference, people who want to enjoy a drink on the beach already take their own.  I would be interested to learn exactly what kind of live events they intend to stage, just how much space at the cove does the hut leaseholder get for their money? It is, after all, a refreshments hut - not an entertainment venue.  Anything that disturbs the peace of the beach would not be welcome.
