Wrigley, instead of getting behind Mr Bowes-Roden’s campaign had to go and launch his own didn't he. He's just salty that someone got their before him.
Dawlish Against Censorship's Posts
Foden and the Liberal Democrats make a big deal about the Number 2 Service and 'campaign' for a more frequent service during the run-in to elections. This shows she has no clout and her campaigning achieves nothing.
He's receiving around £100K per annum by magically cloning himself so he can pretend to be a MP in Westminster and a District councillor back here in the Shire at the same time. Which I assume is easier than cloning yourself another 2 times to fulfill a total of 4 jobs in government, each to a piss-poor standard, while he and his party became a regular in Private Eye fpr running one of the worst ...
Mentioned on the other thread about this pub - it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it 'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. And yeah, bizarre how a pub is seen as a 'community asset', whereas public toilets are not.
@1263 On insurance, it has been referred to as an 'uninsurable event'. Some might call it 'an act of God'. Both of which seems a load of BS as the pub was just neglected over a long period of time and the issue was well known. Or is neglect now classed as 'an act of God'?
This video is really just to ridicule and humilaite 'people living with obesity' who are taking exercise.
@1263 I didn't need to.
@1263 It could've been, no doubt that's what they had hoped for.
@burnside He's deluded that's for sure.
On a serious note I'm all for this sort of therapeutic work within the NHS's mental health provision and it seems to be a success according to the article; "The album has already attracted critical acclaim. The Wire magazine featured a full-page review in its April edition. Ambient music pioneer Kirsty Hawkshaw praised its therapeutic use of natural sound. Released on ...
People are dumbed down so much that they don't have any common sense any more. This is exemplified by Dawlish voting for people like Dawson and Wrigley. More people die taking their own lives on the adjacent railway but that gets hushed up because the Council and trades people in the town don't like Dawlish being associated with suicide and ill mental health. It's bad for business. Even if they ...
@b.o.liking Can you expand on that. What do you take issue with about the Chagos deal? Do you think it should be decolonized? Do you think Chagossians living in Mauritius, Seychelles and W. Sussex should be allowed to return to their homeland? Closer links with neighbouring countries in the EU in itself isn't illegal. Could you be more specific?
@1263 It's already happening. Councils encouraging and facilitating volunteering is just an extension of Cameron's Big Society and what Wrigley as Leader of TDC called 'Community Powered Councils'. It sounds more inclusive, it aims to make people think they have greater say in democracy, but it's just about ceding any responsibility and accountability because they haven't really got a clue. ...
@1263 The MDA is all about poor journalism. It often portrays Herr Wriggler as someone who 'demands' things. It's part of the persona he tries to cultivate for himself as a tough guy who were are meant to believe does things differently and gets results, aided by the Lib Dem biased MDA. It's laughable as Wrigley is a coward, an egotist and an absolute career politician. He is demanding, but only ...
@Paul I wasn't debating right and wrong. Animal welfare is secondary to profit, whether animals are bred for food or for sports. Livestock farming also has a negative environmental impact. Growth hormones and anti-biotics, coupled with cases of contamination where meats are basically marinated in faecal matter post slaughter means the welfare of those eating these 'animal products' isn't a ...
Is the town crier a paid position? Or does this bloke and his wife just enjoy dressing up/larping like they're still in th 1700s for free?
If volunteers are being used to replace paid workers to clear our waterways, then we should get a Council tax reduction. Hell why don't all these comfortably off, retired, middle class volunteers clean the public loos and collect our waste if they're as keen as mustard. Or are they all just there as 'extras' in another Lib Dem staged photo opportunity? The problem is that Dawlish Water was ...
Wolborough Fen named jewel of English nature by Guardian https://www.middevonadvertiser.co.uk/news/wolborough-fen-named-jewel-of-english-nature-by-guardian-799519 "A SITE of Special Scientific Interest in Newton Abbot has been named as one of the Guardian’s ten jewels of English nature at risk from the development. The Guardian describes the Fen and the other sites as ‘irreplaceable wild ...
@Carer , would you say that there's absolutely no need for for food banks, breakfast clubs in Schools to feed malnourished children and winter fuel allowances so a large proportion of pensioners don't freeze to death each winter? Which reality do you refer to? Your own or that of wider society?
@burnside That's the Liberal Democrat modus operandi locally. Rosie Dawson prevents free speech as former Chair of the district Council. Wrigley and his cabal ignores the needs and concerns of traders in Queen St Newton Abbot, market traders over changes to the indoor market, then there's the theatre campaign and local people concerned about the housing sprawl and loss of countryside containing ...
@1263 I don't see how any government can stop anyone hostile getting into the country. Whether that's a jihadist entering amongst those seeking asylum or Russian agents. Hostile groups already exist within the British citizenry anyway. What about British citizens who are radicalized and become hostile? Even if the boats could be stopped it wouldn't stop British born Jihadists and British born ...
People park on pavements all the time without any regard for people like this elderly lady using her mobility scooter. wheelchair users, parent with prams, etc. I hope the knobhead in the van was caught and the book gets thrown at them. It's illegal parking after all.
Meanwhile in other news.... Beaches hit with sewage alerts https://www.middevonadvertiser.co.uk/news/beaches-hit-with-sewage-alerts-792199 I don't know if more excrement comes out of the Mid Devon Advertiser/Dawlish Gazette than is found on our beaches. Brown Flag award for a crappy local rag.
And Who is watching the watchers? We need a 'Lib Dem Watch' given that Wrigley and has crooked District council make regular appearances in the Private Eye, breaching human rights, etc. Reform are Trump-like, as are the likes of Wrigley and Dawson. Pot calling the kettle black. Hypocrites.
@1263 If you wrote to the Lib Dems about hiring the barrister I'd be interested to hear what their response was and who responded.
£80K spent on the Manor House and they get unpaid trainees to do the gardening! Get the serfs in to work for nothing! Effing ridiculous as our taxes keep on rising.
@BOO HOO Very well put. Turn The Tide need to look into the embodied energy costs of the new sea wall and all the new builds before they can claim to be advocates bringing attention to climate change and the environment.
The Liberal Democrats basically got the same amount of votes, so anything Labour or the Conservatives are doing or have done in government didn't directly benefit them. And nothing the Lib Dems have ever done since being formed has had much of a bearing on the two larger parties, including when they partnered with the Tories in the 2010 coalition - they just U-Turned and assisted the ...
Village Idiot gets stuck in a toddler' swing at play park. And to think this teenager will be able to vote in a few years. Super low intelligent teens are being bred by and 'parented' by super low intelligent 'adults' who are probably too busy playing with their phones, wtching reality TV and shovelling junk food down their fat gullets to even give a damn. It's neglect, and probably why some ...
The Lib Dem brown nosing-paper that calls itself the Mid Devon Advertiser conveniently neglects to mention that there was a District Council by-election in Teignmouth West. The position was won by the Liberal Democrats in 2019 and 2023 but the Councillor quit the party, became an Independent and then left the Council entirely triggering a by-election. This was not reported at the time and kept ...
@1263 You're wrong. The Lib Dem % of the vote in Dawlish was up on 2021 by almost 2%. They only gained 3 more votes compared to 2021. But as turn-out was lower this year their vote share went up.
@sarahkhan Politicians should expect to be criticized when they act in such a dictatorial manner. Are you even aware of the full picture? And what name calling? The title is the same as that on the You Tube video? It's a question and a very valid one. Constructive discussion was exactly what Dawson prevents from occurring as Chair of the District Council.
@1263 It's on his register of interests https://democracy.teignbridge.gov.uk/mgDeclarationSubmission.aspx?UID=393&HID=182&FID=0&HPID=68306641 When have the Liberal Democrats been concerned about conflicts of interest? And why would they be concerned when our cherished 'democracy' allows a person who is meant to be a public servant to hold four jobs at the same time costing the taxpayer ...
Rosie Dawson wants to be elected our County Councillor on May 1st She is currently the worst Chair we've ever had in Teignbridge District Council, which is considered Britain's worst Council. She's already lording it over us on this Council and the Town Council. Do you really want her on the county Council as well? In this video she prevents the public from speaking at a public meeting. ...
